Protein bites are awesome to have on hand when you are busy or on the go. I usually have some prepared in advance and store them in the freezer and thaw as needed. Generally I use nuts and dates as the base of these little balls or bites, whatever you want to call them! However I switched things up this time around. I collaborated with Manitoba Harvest for this post. Hope that you enjoy these bite-sized snacks as much as I do! Loaded with plant-based protein and healthy fats, you can’t go wrong. Ingredients 3/4 cups steel cut oats 1/2 cup natural peanut butter 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp pure Grad ..read more

As a vegetarian I’m all about those side dishes. Ever go to someone’s house and can’t eat the main dish as it has meat? No problem. Load on up those delicious side dishes. I’m not even mad about that. Side dishes for the win! Rice is an awesome alternative to always having potatoes on the side, as your starch. Even better if you can add some fruit and nuts into it too for extra flavour and nutrition. With that, I bring you this yummy, healthy and fresh ancient rice dish that I collaborated with Yupik for. I’ve purchased their nuts before at Costco, and actually always use their raw cashews fo ..read more

For those of you who may already know, I’m a soup girl through and through. I could eat soup everyday. It’s the dish I most often make for meal prep too. It’s so hearty, comforting, and healthy. Comfort food at it’s finest for me. It’s super easy to make a big batch of and store into mason jars to have some quick and easy meals for lunch or dinner (just add a salad and some crusty bread). The great thing about soup is that it’s always better the next day after the flavours have all meshed together. Yum. Probably my most favourite soup ever is minestrone. It’s got you covered with lots of vege ..read more

Double Chocolate Baked Donuts   It’s been a long while since I’ve posted on here, sorry for that! It’s been a crazy busy year with planning (and having) our wedding and with studying and writing two large designations exams. Phew. Here we are almost at the end of 2017, already. Where has the time gone? I’ve got some donut recipes coming at you for the holiday season as well, they just have to go through one more round of testing and they will be up. Think: Vegan Holiday Spiced Donuts. They’re too good. Until then, I leave you with these Vegan Double Chocolate Baked Donuts. They’re made with ..read more

Vegan Pho

There’s absolutely no reason why people that follow a plant-based diet can’t enjoy the same traditional dishes. Traditionally, Vietnamese Pho (a rice noodle soup with herbs and veggies) is usually made with a beef or chicken bone broth. You can enjoy a delicious bowl of this warming soup totally plant-based style, and in much less time than the traditional dish takes at that. It’s key to char your onion and ginger, a well as to add the fragrant spices to the soup as the broth simmers. You won’t regret the beautiful fragrant smell as it cooks. It’s my favourite thing about pho – the smell of t ..read more

That’s a mouthful, but trust me, you gotta give all of the flavours the recognition that they deserve, hence the name. My first time making a vegan cheesecake was for Valentine’s Day. I followed the recipe from Angela Liddon’s Oh She Glows Everyday Cookbook. Since it turned out so amazing and not to mention, how beautiful it looked… I decided this vegan cheesecake thing has to be explored further. So, I bring you this beauty. Which has been heavily inspired by my first adventure in vegan cheesecake making. Please note that I used a 9-inch springform pan. This recipe will provide the same heig ..read more

One recipe, two ways. Perfect, right? You can either use this recipe to make gluten-free vegan oatmeal raisin cookies, or gluten-free vegan granola (to be eaten as a snack or used in a cereal with your favourite non-dairy milk). It’s an easy recipe, and I started out making cookies but made some granola out of it too. I added to the granola to make it even better (think: baked coconut chips, dried blueberries or cranberries, dark chocolate chunks, etc.) Gotta love getting the most out of a recipe! One cookie really hits the spot if you want something sweet and crunchy. They are easily digestib ..read more
