Taking a nice long hike in the great Canadian outdoors is one of my favourite things, however, with ticks and mosquitos lurking, one must ensure they are protected.
A few easy ways to avoid ticks:
Avoid walking in long grass.
Wear nylons under your leggings/hiking pants.
Try my Smart Bug repellent that actually smells good!
Smart Bug Repellant
10 drops of citronella, lemon eucalyptus, neem or geranium oil (or a combination thereof)
1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup of water
3 Tablespoons of vegetable glycerin
Mix all of the above and add to a glass spray bottle.

I just love this time of year!
The fruits of summer are coming into season, and each mouthful bursts with juicy freshness.
I always like to tell people that they should eat veggies like it’s their job, but in July it’s completely reasonable to make fruit a top priority! Sure, we have access to many of them year-round, but in my opinion there is nothing quite as divine as fresh, local strawberries.
