Review: Cowboy Justice by P. Creeden

Cowboy Justice was an interesting story which definitely made me feel as if I was back in time. Phineas was a character who was trying to figure out what to do with his life. When he finally began training as a Texas Ranger, it seemed that everything in his life had led him to this. However, trouble found him and he had to go through a lot just to survive the ordeal he was pulled into. But surviving led him to meet Charlotte, who helped him and took care of him. I liked seeing these two connect and learn to care for each other. But the trouble wasn’t over yet! Charlotte and Phineas still had ..read more

Review: Tangled Up in Love by Carolyn Miller

This friends to more romance really pulled my emotions all over the place! Ellie was sure confused about what love really was. She was swept up in the idea of what love might be instead of recognizing the heart of the person who had loved her all along. Ellie had a lot of emotions to work through and definitely put Jasper through the wringer with the way she reacted to finding out he cared about her as more than friends. My heart broke for Jasper and I admired this character so much for all he tried to do, even as his heart and pride were hurting over and over again. He didn’t always do every ..read more

Review: Catch a Wave by Savannah Scott

Finishing this story felt like a warm hug, knowing that things were going to be not only simply “ok” for these two characters going forward, but that they had overcome some incredibly hard things and made it back to each other, stronger than they were before. This tale encompassed forgiveness and acceptance and moving forward rather than backward. It was a romance that was insta love in the flashbacks, but slow growing in its healing recovery during the present day portion of the story. For most of the novel, I kept wondering what truly broke Bodhi and Kalaine (Mavs) up. I had an idea, and it ..read more

Review: Love, Unscripted by Denise Hunter

I simply adored this novel! The celebrity romance trope is a favorite of mine and this book had many of the things that make this trope one that I have so much fun reading. I loved the way Liam and Chloe connected. Their “meet cute” before they even met in person was priceless and set things up for them to be wonderfully awkward when they actually did meet. I felt like I connected with these characters right from the beginning of the story. They were wounded by the actions of people who should have loved them forever. It impacted them and did end up causing problems for their relationship. I ..read more

Review: If the Boot Fits by Karen Witemeyer

If the Boot Fits is a fun twist on the Cinderella fairy tale, with the hero, Asher Ellis, the one running off and leaving a boot behind! I enjoyed that although this story is based on the idea of Cinderella, it is not simply a switch up of male and female roles with a few details thrown in to make it a historical western. If the Boot Fits is truly its own story. The author did a very good job of creating a heroine who looks beneath the surface of events and people and truly tries to see their hearts. I liked that Samantha recognized the uniqueness of a man who is willing to risk getting caugh ..read more

Review: One Last Shot by Susan May Warren

Wow! One Last Shot is a fantastic start to the brand new Alaska Air One series. There are a few characters from some of the author’s other books who make appearances in this story, however, having read any of the other books that those characters are in is not necessary to the enjoyment or understanding of anything in this novel. I loved the way the author gave these two main characters, Oaken and Boo, backstories which were weighing them down. Whether it was feelings of embarrassment and shame or guilt and anger, both Oaken and Boo had to let go of these things and give them over to God. It ..read more

Audio Book Review: Tex by Liz Isaacson

I enjoyed this audiobook. It’s book one in the Coral Canyon Cowboys series, however it looks like there is also a story for Tex’s brother, Mav, that is a prequel and available through the author’s newsletter. But for me, this is the first book that I have read with these brothers. This is a second chance at love romance between two high school sweethearts. It is also a little bit of a celebrity romance, but not a lot. Tex is a country music star, however, the fame doesn’t seem to be a big issue in the small town he grew up in with his brothers. I loved seeing Tex and Abby reconnect. The autho ..read more
