I first met this family 4 years ago when their sweet girls were born! I photographed their newborn session and have had the joy of photographing them *almost* every year since! We missed a year of photography due to covid and the lockdown, however we were super excited to get back for a fall session this year! We were able to meet up at Morningstar Mill in St. Catharines for their family session. We had such great weather and the girls did so great! We were able to snap a variety of images, whether it was in front of the home, near the old mill, or on the gorgeous stone bridge. The girls also ..read more

Welcome back to our nest! We’ve made it to the end of week four – a whole month of coming up with things to do with your kids! What new things popped up for you this week?  For us, it was distance schooling!  Miss A’s classroom came online and boy was that a learning curve for me! This week I’m going to link to a post I made about our academics, a little project Brandon and Mr. D started, how we pulled off Easter dinner with our family, a bit into how Mr. D’s karate class is operating these days, and a fun (and easy!) thing we did with the kids (that they LOVED). For those of you new ..read more

Homeschooling meets school at home – Part One

So, as I alluded to in past posts, I wanted to share what schooling looks like in our home.  I started writing it out with my typical “what we did during week x”, and then realized it was such a huge topic that it really needed it’s own post.  Our home is more unique than most.  Due to the pandemic, we can’t truly homeschool (more on that in a bit) but we also have to incorporate public school e-learning (which is far from traditional homeschooling). Thus we have homeschooling meets school at home. I’ll explain all of this – don’t worry.  I’ll do my best not to ra ..read more

Welcome back to our nest! So here we are.  The end of week three.  Is your list of things to do with your kids growing? I hope you are starting to settle into this new (temporary?) normal!  I think we finally have *knock on wood*! (that being said, I’m fully aware that distance education starts for Miss A. next week so I may be a bit premature in saying we’ve found our groove! LOL) This week was filled with a bunch of things – one really special thing for a friend, a surprise for the kids, some painting, and baking (yes a recipe will included in this blog!) For those of you new ..read more

Welcome back to our nest! How has your second week been?  We’ve started to settle into a bit of a groove over here, but we’re definitely still adjusting to everyone being home all the time! This week was definitely full of a lot of play in our home.  Although we still did our academics, we definitely tried to spend more time playing, finding a form exercise we could do together, and connecting with friends online. For those of you new to this blog, let me tell you what it’s all about!  Since we are all home with our kids, I wanted to help by starting a weekly blog where I could ..read more

Welcome to our nest! How is everyone doing in this new crazy world we’re living in?  Have you run out of things to do with the kids yet? Since the ordered closure of all schools as well as non-essential businesses (which has been heartbreaking for myself and my clients), life has certainly changed in our home!  Right now, my photography doors are closed until the order is lifted, my husband is working from home, and my (bonus) daughter has joined my son in homeschooling. *side bar, I cannot wait to see and photograph all my clients and their new babies as soon as this order is lifted!* While w ..read more

Tillsonburg Family Photographer – Welcome back D family! I jumped up and down with excitement when this mama sent me a note asking if I had availability to come back to Tillsonburg to photograph the soon-to-be-arriving newest member of their family! Mama had planned on having a home birth but her little bun was so cozy that they were quickly approaching an induction date.  Mama was determined to be able to have her little one at home and sure enough, this little one listened to her mama and came earth side one day before her induction date! Mama messaged me right after this sweet little girl w ..read more
