We had an excellent Power Hour with Anup Parikh from Chargepoint EV charging on Thursday May16th 2019 at the Austin Technology Incubator. Anup discussed the growing EV industry and how Chargepoint is providing charging stations around the country to match this growth. This past Saturday was Earth Day 2019 at Huston-Tillotson University. It was amazing to be able to participate in the festival, but it was also great to see so many people and organizations that care about the Earth. There were many popular organizations such as Imperfect Produce, Citizens’ Climate Lobby, and the Texas Campaign for the Environment. However, there were also many companies that I had never heard of, such as Clean Sleep, which is a company that sanitizes mattresses and helps hotels, dorms, and other commercial and residential areas save money and reduce waste. Renewable energy, particularly wind power, has been hugely successful in Texas, thanks in large measure to a combination of federal, state, and local incentives that began more than two decades ago.
