Cobblestone & candles In exactly one week I’ll be back in the land of countless carbohydrates. I have come to terms with the fact that I literally have no self control when confronted with a basket of Italian bread, pasta, pizza, or vino. My last super would probably just consist of bread, oil and vinegar. All the vegan goodies in the world could not replace the gratification I get from one slice of perfectly baked focaccia. And there’s no better place to experience this than of course at an outdoor cafe, perfected situated on a cobblestone street in Rome. Adorned with candles from my ve ..read more

With love, from Joshua Tree I’m a sucker for good looking stationery. For the past ten years I’ve been sending out hundreds of my own custom holiday cards each year. I love hand written greetings; getting a snail mail thank you or note is always heart-warming. Customizable online print shop, Basic Invite, will get you excited to send out invites, announcements, postcards, even business cards! I took my beautifully made Basic Invite samples to Joshua Tree for a little feature in the desert. Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card (as in the multiple s ..read more

Resorting with Flores Lane If you’ve been reading my blog for a while I’m sure you know of my affinity towards delicious candles, in particular LA based brand, Flores Lane. They’ve made an appearance in all my favorite locations…Los Angeles, Joshua Tree and now Greece. They burn non stop when I’m at home, so what better to bring them along on my Greecian holiday in Mykonos? I always travel with scents to brighten up hotel rooms or backstage dressing rooms (some need it wayyyy more than others) and Flores Lane has nailed it with their scent perfection. Exquisitely crafted florals were wafting ..read more

Girl, we couldn’t get much higher. My absolute favorite candle line joined us on our last journey to Joshua Tree. An evening filled with vintage vinyl and the most luxurious scents from Flores Lane is what makes up a perfect desert getaway. Each hand-poured soy candle made in the heart of West Hollywood is named after a particular region of LA and NY. Some of my favorites include the beachy florals of Hermosa Beach and the musky undertones of Venice. Anytime I’m at home I can guarantee a Flores Lane jar or two is illuminated. The scents are vibrant but subtle enough to burn two favorites at ..read more

Desert Dreaming I can’t think of a better escape right now than under the desert stars in Joshua Tree. The cool evenings in the desert call for lots of layering, blankets and cozying up. Just in time for that time of year when everyone makes the pilgrimage to Coachella Valley for two weekends of music and bohemian fashion overload. Dare I say I’m not a big fan of Coachella (I’ve performed there and I’ve attended) maybe it’s the mass influx of high schoolers who depleated the inventory in every Forever 21 within a 50 mile radius of Los Angeles, or maybe it’s the fact that I can’t stand EDM or ..read more
