Hestercombe Gardens Wedding – Alice & Jonathan This was my first time as a Hestercombe Gardens wedding photographer and I can’t find enough superlatives to describe this venue in Somerset. ‘Wow! What can we say?! Thank you so much for these incredible photos!! They’ve brought us right back to the moment. We’ve just relived the whole day while looking through these. We are so thrilled with the photos.’ – Alice & Jonathan Despite being fellow South East Londoners, Alice and Jonathan chose an absolute gem of a venue in the West Country for their wedding. Anne-Sophie and Ollie’s Chateau d’Urval wedding in the Dordogne “These are amazing. Thank you so much.” Chateau d’Urval has a very fond place in my heart. It was where I shot my first French wedding back in 2012 and I’ve had the great privilege to return on countless occasions since. As a teenager I used to make regular trips to France and as an enthusiastic Francophone, I’d indulge myself in as much French culture as I could. But I was also studying German and chose to spend my year abroad at uni in Germany, so I missed out on an extended stay in France. Between then and 2012 life got in the ..read more

Larissa & Charlie’s Chateau de Lacoste wedding Larissa and Charlie’s Chateau de Lacoste wedding was the first time I’ve been to this fabulous eighteenth century chateau at the top of the Dordogne valley in the Périgord noir region. Situated at the top of the valley, it has magnificent views over the Dordogne with the medieval chateau of Beynac et Cazenac visible with the Dordogne river winding its way throughout the whole scene. It makes a truly magnificent backdrop for a wedding, especially when hot air balloons rise up unannounced from the bottom of the valley high up into the sky aroun ..read more

Marie and Gordon’s Syon Park wedding I knew straight away that I’d get on well with Marie and Gordon when she sent me this email about her Syon Park wedding ‘Syon House is obviously a pretty grand venue so we want to keep it non-poncey. Lots of green, using the natural light and environment. We’re both very laid back and want to have a fun day with friends and family above everything else.’ Syon Park is indeed a grand venue, but that’s not to say it’s stuffy or overly formal. There are elements of formality, but it’s carried off in a an elegant and effortless way making it a memorable venue f ..read more

Jo & Paul’s le Manoir du Bout du Pont wedding Last July I had the great pleasure of shooting Jo and Paul’s le Manoir du Bout du Pont wedding in the South West of France. Nestled on the border of the Dordogne and Lot et Garonne in Agnac, this is one of the most quaint and charming wedding venues I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at. This part of the France is very close to my heart and I’ve been lucky enough to make several trips to this region every year to photograph weddings in recent years. The laid back atmosphere of the area is obvious on arrival at the tiny Bergerac airport which fe ..read more

Kat and Dave’s Brympton House wedding There aren’t enough good things to say about Kat and Dave’s Brympton House wedding which I had the pleasure of photographing on a warm August day. Kat and Dave win the prize for being one of the most chilled out couples I’ve met in a long time and this was evident throughout their wedding day as it turned out to be a relaxed and fun gathering of the their closest friends and family. The one piece of advice I would give to couples, having been a part of so many weddings, is to encourage them to really do what they want, in the way that they want to. Apart ..read more

Jen & Tom’s Chateau la Durantie wedding Jen and Tom’s Chateau la Durantie wedding wedding was my second second trip to this stunning wedding venue near Limoges in the Dordogne. Chateau la Durantie is a privately owned chateau that is lived in by its owners but hired out exclusively for weddings of up to 150 people. Built by the Duke d’Isly around 1840, it is a unique combination of chateau chic with the relaxed ambience typified by the Dordogne. Jen and Tom’s chateau la Durantie wedding took place on a beautiful summer’s day in June. It’s a lovely time of year in the Dordogne, as the weat ..read more

Alice and Adrien’s Elmore Court wedding Alice and Adrien’s Elmore Court wedding was my first visit to this stunning historic venue in beautiful Gloucestershire and I very much hope it won’t be my last. The house itself, which still serves as a family home, dates back to approximately 1580 and the family that currently lives there have roots there dating back to around 1274. So clearly a venue with some rich heritage and history. According to the current owners the house has been altered and added to over the generations, from Elizabethan times through to the Victorian era, always with the int ..read more

Gina and Chris’s Trafalgar Tavern Wedding Photographing a wedding in Trafalgar Tavern wedding is always a special occasion for me as it’s where I’ve lived in Greenwich for the last 15 years so I’m very familiar and comfortable with almost all of the churches and wedding venues here. If I walk from my house near the Thames path to West Greenwich, I can pretty much pass every major wedding venue, from pubs like the Cutty Sark to The Trafalgar Tavern, St Alfege Church and Our Ladye Star of the Sea on Crooms Hill. Not to mention the icon landmarks of the Royal Naval College and the Queen’s h ..read more

Lindsay and Tom’s Wilton’s Music Hall wedding was the third time I’ve shot at this fantastic London venue. Tucked down a side alley not far from Tower Bridge, it’s one of London’s hidden gems. The building itself dates back to the 1690s and it started to be used as a music hall in 1859 with the idea of bringing West End glamour and glitz to the East End. Ever since then it’s been known for theatre and music and I can vouch for the diverse array of productions it hosts every year having visited a few times over the years. You might be forgiven for thinking that a venue where the main audit ..read more
