It had been a few years since I’d seen Hilda last, and when she told me she wanted to do a solo Siren of the Sea session in Cornwall I couldn’t have been happier! Springtime is so magical around here, and we got really lucky with a beautiful evening in the middle of a rainy week. ‘Everything happens for a reason… If it wasn’t for Marianne I wouldn’t have thought of coming to Cornwall. I’m so glad I did, as I was totally stunned by the beautiful scenery – the beaches, the cliffs… I had the most amazing time. For twice now when Marianne did my shoot, the punt we took always paid off. Last time ..read more

Jonnie: male model portfolio session on Fistral Beach in Newquay

On a still slightly chilly spring day, we had a commercial shoot booked in with Jonnie, and since he drove five hours (!) to come all the way to Cornwall, we decided to also shoot a little beachy portfolio session – would have felt like a waste of all that traveling otherwise! Even though we didn’t see the sun, we did get an almost empty beach to play on! ‘For me, Cornwall is a getaway, somewhere I associate with freedom. Having moved there for the better part of 6 months, which was originally supposed to be only 2 months, it played a significant role in forming my opinions on things such as ..read more

Frøy fround her way all the way from Norway to study in Cornwall, and while here she’s also found a career in modelling. Looking at these images we shot for her portfolio makes me miss summer so hard! (P.S. we also shot the cutest couple session with Frøy and her boyfriend on this pretty day.) ‘I can think of no better place than Cornwall to be able to do freelance modeling. The beautiful scenery makes for some amazing backdrops and great images.’ – Frøy Thanks, girl, it’s always such a pleasure to capture your beauty ..read more

Pen & Cam : Cornish farewell couple shoot
Marianne Taylor Photography | London & Cornwall Wedding Photographer

Last time I photographed Pen & Cam was for their anniversary session right after they had moved to Cornwall. It’s a little bit bittersweet that this next shoot took place at a time when they were getting ready to relocate to Cam’s native Australia. They will be deeply missed by most of Cornwall (no joke, there are SO many people here that love these two!), and I’m hoping Cornwall will always hold a tiny piece of their hearts as they look over a different ocean. We were both raised by oceans and eventually migrated to jungles of concrete. With time, it became clear we yearned for the raw ..read more

The Goldhawk Family : family session in Newquay

It was such a pleasure to meet Zanna & Harry (who run the Cornish-based Papio Press) and little Theo for a family session at my local park in Newquay. We were so lucky to catch some beautiful autumn rays, and since Zanna and Harry didn’t have any portraits from their wedding day, we also indulged in some sweet couple time with them! ‘Zanna grew up in Cornwall so when we got married we knew it was the perfect place to move to start our family. We wanted to do something special to celebrate the arrival of little Theo and were over the moon with these photos. We’re illustrators that are hug ..read more

Lydia : autumnal Cornish model portfolio shoot in the dunes

Cornwall provides such a gorgeous backdrop to photography and creating portfolio images for local models is something that I really enjoy doing. I love the autumnal beachy tones and warm light that we captured in this portfolio session with Lydia. ‘I found my relationship with Cornwall very early on in my life. For years my mum and dad would bring me down here for the perfect summer get away. But three years stuck out in particular when me, mum and my brother would stuff our rucksacks to the brim, find our way down to the coast and walk the perimeter of cornwall wild camping and finding ever ..read more

The Ling Family : Family fun on the beach

Over the years, we’ve had a few photographic adventures with Wendy and Martin in places like Paris and London. Now, after having grown into a family of four, they came down to Cornwall for a family shoot on the beach. It was special to get to still feel connected to their journey, as well as spending time on my home turf. ‘There’s nothing better than lovely beaches and beautiful sceneries in Cornwall, not to mention the Cornish Pasty! Since we first visited 3 years ago, we have made it our annual summer getaway from the hustle and bustle of busy cities just to relax and enjoy the sea breeze ..read more

Rosanne & Olly : a love story of two beaches

Oh my, how time flies! It suddenly seems ages ago when we went for a cliffside walk with Rosanne & Olly (avec the most adorable Turnip!) on one of the many many days last summer when the sun was just relentlessly bright and warm all the way into the evening. What I’d do to go back now! Not a lot beats the magnificent views of Cornwall, but getting to spend time giggling with these two just might, adorable doesn’t quite cover it. From opposite sides of the coast, we met in the middle and a relationship developed from laughter, adventure and love of music. One year on, and it’s still the s ..read more

Spending time on the beach, capturing happy family memories, is one of my favourite things. For this family shoot with Carrie, Ian, River and Eden, we headed to Crantock beach, which never disappoints – no matter what the weather! Not that I’m complaining about how the sun blessed us this summer, it definitely was a stunner. ‘Cornwall is our home and will always be our home! It was agreed when we first started dating. We love being able to pick up our boys from school and head straight to the beach to make the very most of the rest of the day. Ian loves to go for a sail on the Cornish coast ..read more

Frøy, from Norway & Alex, from Devon, have made Cornwall their home while Frøy studies here. On a beautiful hazy summer’s day, we had a little shoot on the beach to create a memory of this time in their lives. ‘Cornwall has been a little adventure, having fires on the beach, swimming before work and exploring the beautiful coastal paths. We love it here.’ – Frøy & Alex Shooting couples in love in the glorious setting that Cornwall provides fills me with unspeakable joy! What an adventure life is ..read more
