With a few starter stitches, you’ll be able to start creating stunning embroidery work.
Running Stitch
Take the needle in and out along the line being stitched. Keep the stitch length even on the top, short stitches on the back will make the front stitches closer together and vice versa.
Back Stitch
Work from right to left, bring the needle out at A. Insert the needle at B and come out at C. Insert the needle at A again and come out at D. Repeat the sequence to continue, keeping an even stitch length.
Split Stitch
Working from left to right, bring the needle up at A and down at B ..read more

This effective, yet simple to make, light up box frame is perfect for adorning a shelf or wall in your home, or even given as a gift. A little patience is required when fussy-cutting all of the foliage that adorns the edge of this light up frame, but the end result is well worth it! This project is great for Christmas, but too good not to use all year around!

Salt dough decorations are such a wonderful sensory craft to do. Salt dough is the perfect material for Christmas decorations, as its beautifully malleable and once hardened in the oven its very durable. It lends itself to cookie cutter shapes and easy printed textures. These geometric salt dough decorations are made simply with a cookie cutter and some masking tape. If you like a bit more sparkle to your decorations you could try all sorts of different colours and glitter, or hang with metallic threads to make them even more eye catching.

These cute little unicorn hobby horses are an adaptation of a hobby horse I always used to make with my mother. Refilling the horses with candy canes was always a tradition when getting out all the decorations. Really simple to sew and oh so therapeutic, Unicorn Hobby Horses are the perfect project to complete with a festive film and a cosy cuppa.
