Click here March has been incredibly busy for me this year, full of some amazing opportunities, fun events and of course, a lot of colour! From the exciting launch of my new collection with DFS to partying at the QEST fundraiser with the team at Harlequin, it has felt such a privilege to be working alongside such super inspiring and creative people. Not to mention everyone’s favourite and my podcast bestie, Kate Watson-Smyth of @mad_about_the_house, with whom I recorded our last episode (for a while) of the fabulous and ever so popular The Great Indoors podcast. Yes, thats right we say fare ..read more

How to create a maximalist Spring table setting
Sophie Robinson
by Sophie Robinson

Spring is upon us and at this time of year I find myself with a natural boost of energy and optimism, and ready to open my home to guests. After a long (and very wet) winter of hibernation the daffodils and birdsong signal the time to be a bit more sociable and with the Easter celebrations and bank holiday weekends on the horizon, what could be better than laying the table in a maximalist style to celebrate.  Easter is the perfect time to embrace colour and feel inspired by the pretty Spring colour palette. Typically these are the pastel shades- think primrose yellow, duck egg blue and pa ..read more

Buying a sofa is a big decision. It’s one of the most expensive pieces of furniture you’ll ever buy for your home and due to it’s scale, it’s going to make a big visual impact in the space. Not to mention the comfort factor which is paramount to how you will feel using the room. I recently had the amazing opportunity to design my own range of sofa’s for Dfs and I pulled on all my experience of what I know works for a colourful, comfy and maximalist space.  So let’s get into it- what should you be looking for when making that all important investment. Choosing a colour From colour to comfo ..read more

DFS x Sophie Robinson: My new colourful sofa collection
Sophie Robinson
by Sophie Robinson
1M ago
Big drumroll moment…my first collection of colourful sofas has just hit the high street! It’s been two years in the making but it’s something I’m super proud of and a great measure of confidence to have DFS, the biggest upholstery retailer in the UK, get on board with bold colour and flamboyant pattern in this way. The colour revolution is underway! The collection saw me working with the design team to create a capsule collection that gives you the confidence to opt for that bold bright colour that your heart desires, but with the additional confidence and along with my expertise, on how you c ..read more

Click here February has absolutely flown by, thank goodness. Traditionally it’s my least favourite month as the grey days just drag on and on and Spring still feels so far away. But this time I cleverly booked a short 48 hour getaway, with Arthur during half term, to Rome which was absolutely brilliant! We went mid week and stealing some time away from work, and more importantly my phone. We ate ice creams next to fountains, watched movies in bed with pizza, sketched under the trees and had our minds blown by the incredible Roman sites. The blue skies and 18 degrees really helped too!  ..read more

How to create a mood board
Sophie Robinson

I’m a huge fan of a mood board – it’s an essential part of the design process and a way to really dig into your creativity, your authentic sense of style and personal colour palette. It’s like doing all the detective work before you start picking up that paint chart or flexing the credit card.  It can not only save you time and money, but help you keep on track through out the design and implementation process – ensuring your final look is not only cohesive, but creates the mood and impact you desired from the get go. If you’re looking at an empty room with no idea where to start, a mood ..read more

Trend Report: Stained Glass Windows
Sophie Robinson
by Sophie Robinson

I first noticed a few interior pictures before Christmas featuring beautiful stained glass windows and I think it was the fact I saw three or so within a few days of each other, that made me wonder, ‘ooh, is this a thing’? I parked the idea over the holidays but interestingly, since doing so, I seem to have stumbled upon even more fabulous modern and traditional stained glass that all have one thing in common; celebrating colour and light in all its magnificent glory! Whilst it may be a slower trend than others (I’m sure we’re not all going to go out and install a stained glass window tomorrow ..read more

How to add personality to your kitchen
Sophie Robinson
by Sophie Robinson

The kitchen is the engine room of the home and like many of you I’m sure, we spend most of our time as a family in the kitchen. In fact, that is one of the main reasons we wanted to switch the rooms around last year – it didn’t make sense us all cramming into our tiny kitchen and rarely using the large spacious living room we had. It’s not just a place to cook, but where we gather at the end of our day, invite friends over, complete homework and of course sit round and eat together. So while the kitchen has got to meet many practical needs, ultimately the decor is what makes it feel like a gre ..read more

Click here We’ve made it to the end of January. Whoop whoop! Days are getting longer (apparently) and I’ve already spotted the bulbs I planted last month peeking through the dark soil which is beyond thrilling! Soon we’ll have bright yellow daffodils and tulips and be on our way to brighter days. But without wanting to wish the month away, welcome to my new monthly post titled,  ‘This month I’m loving…’ Quite simply it is a round up of all the things I’ve been loving this month. And I’d love for you to share with me what you are loving right now as one thing I’ve noticed about this lov ..read more

How to create an inspirational work space
Sophie Robinson
by Sophie Robinson

Well now that January is half way gone (hooray!) , I’m finally getting into the full swing of work. It’s been a rip roaring start to the year and following my annual Vision Board process, I’m happy to report I’ve got my mojo back. Like many of you I work from home and creating an inspirational space that helps me feel motivated and creative is essential to my success. Like every room in your home, creating the right mood and feeling, using colour, texture and layout is the key to getting the most out of your space. But I don’t always get it right first time! The first version of my home office ..read more
