We’re massive fish fans in our house and to be honest, I prefer to meat, as for me it’s a much lighter option and I love the taste and variety of the different type of seafood that is available. There is just so much that you can do with it that I don’t think I would miss eating meat if I was to give it up. When The Saucy Fish Co. got in contact asking me to review a selection of their products from their website I jumped at the chance. As a family, we’re already massive fans anyway and love the quality of the fish and the sauces that come with them to make cooking a healthy family meal fuss f ..read more

If a creamy light fluffy texture and that rich dark chocolate deliciousness wasn’t enough this mousse has the added bonus of a zingy lime flavour too, which cuts through the bitter chocolate. It’s the perfect healthier high protein packed dessert for chocolate lovers! Ever since I tried a bar of dark chocolate with lime last summer, I’ve been obsessed with combining citrus flavours and chocolate. It sounds like such an odd combination – dark chocolate and lime, together? Yes!!! I’m telling you that it’s a match made in heaven. The citrus notes cut through the rich and intense dark chocolate fl ..read more

Morello Cherry & Lime Courgette Cake – Celery and Cupcakes

Zingy zesty lime and sweet morello cherries are a match made in heaven. The star of this recipe is the grated courgette, which makes this cake super fluffy and moist. It’s also gluten free, hurrah! Now don’t get me wrong, adding grated courgette to an already perfectly sounding cake recipe sounds pretty out there, however, carrot cake has done the rounds for years, so why not? I’ve always wanted to try making courgette brownies but wasn’t in a chocolate mood weeks ago when I made this. Instead, I was after something fresh and light to match the spring sunshine that was streaming in through my ..read more

An easy hummus dip that is great spread in your lunch time sandwiches instead of butter or can simply be served up as it is with your favourite crudités. It’s been a while since I’ve made my own hummus and after forgetting to add it to my weekly online grocery shop the other week I thought it was about time I made my own. Thankfully, I had all the necessary ingredients in my kitchen cupboards to make a basic batch of hummus. Although I didn’t want this to be just any old hummus and fancied jazzing things up by adding some additional and more exciting ingredients. I’m a massive fan of feta chee ..read more

We’ve had a lovely couple of days of sunshine in the UK and it’s the perfect time to dig into this pina colada chia pudding for dessert or for breakfast for a tropical start to your day. It’s made ahead of time, so there are no excuses for skipping breakfast with this one. Also, it couldn’t be any easier to make and it’s vegan too! Have you tried chia seeds before? They’re amazing little things and full of powerful nutrition and can be very filling. I love how they swell up and absorb all the liquid – a little goes a long way with chia seeds! Have you tried chia seeds before? What’s your favou ..read more

Now you all know that I’m a green smoothie girl, but every once in a while I like to change things up and experiment. I just love this smoothie, it’s so creamy that has the texture of a milkshake and if you love berries then I know that you will love it too. A few weeks ago I decided to make a frozen berry smoothie bowl for breakfast and promised myself that I would share the recipe on the blog – well here it is! This version of the smoothie is a little different because it’s not served in a bowl and it has one crucial ingredient that wasn’t in the original recipe…chia seeds. Ever since making ..read more

Since the warmer weather set in I’ve changed up my regular breakfasts for a creamy yet refreshing bowl of bircher muesli to start my day. Normally, overnight oats are my preferred choice in the summer months when I want something heartier but cooling for breakfast, but I’ve really been getting into bircher muesli recently, which are the original overnight oats before they became cool. This bowl of almond and coconut bircher muesli is topped with sweet and sticky maple glazed apricots that are in season at the moment. What I love about bircher muesli is that you can make it as plain or as fancy ..read more

Disclaimer – This post mentions the ‘C word’ a lot, I know we’ve only briefly had a summer in the UK, but it’s never too early to get into the Christmas spirit! On one of the hottest days of the year, I headed down to London for Iceland’s Christmas in July event at One Belgravia. As a Christmasholic, I was genuinely excited to be invited to feast on all things festive in the summer. I mean an excuse to eat mince pies and other Christmas themed goodies… who wouldn’t? Imagine blue skies, burning sunshine, and humid city heat; I was slightly taken aback by the amazing Christmas grotto that Icela ..read more
