Dear Dallamites Christmas is coming upon us fast and it's time to start taking bookings for the Dallam Christmas run/walk/meal. It will be taking place on Thursday 28th December @ 1pm, once again at Wilfs Cafe. There will be a run of around 10 miles, which Steve Jeffs is to lead. There will also be a walk of a similar time/duration. Both run and walk will be returning to Staveley in time for a pint or two in the brewery and then a buffet style meal in Wilfs at approx 5.30 to 6pm . It’s that time of year again when your help and support for our Arnside Knott Fell Race is vital to the continued success of the event! Help will be needed setting up the venue at Hollins Farm from around 9.00 am, stewarding the car park, runner registration, start/finish line,results laptop,marking and marshaling the junior and senior courses.   Dallam Running Club – Cross Bay Run Cancellation update from Steve Jeffs and BSAR I have just had an update from BSAR out on the sands this morning (Saturday at 11.30am) and they are saying the Kent Stream (flowing out of the estuary) is too wide, too fast and too deep for them to feel happy in supporting us on our run across. Therefore the X-bay run for this year has to be cancelled as it is too late in the season now to squeeze in another date.   Dallam Running Club – Cross Bay Run new date - Sunday 8th October 2023. Here are the updated details for the rearranged Cross Bay run on Sunday 8th October.   I’m writing to let you know that there’s a new date for the recently postponed cross bay run. I have been in contact with BSAR and they are able to put a team together to see us across the bay on Sunday 8th October. This would mean catching the 11.18 am train from Arnside station (cost still £2.55) and all other arrangements are the same as previously conveyed.
