After many weeks of ridiculous speculation by the media and people who really should have no opinion on the matter, The Princess of Wales issued a statement to say that after the surgery in January she was found to have cancer and was receiving treatment.  Obviously The Prince & Princess of Wales first priority is their young family and for The Princess to get as much rest and peace as possible.  DH and I also went through this terrible situation in 2001 when I, at 36, was diagnosed with breast cancer and our Boys were five and one.  This same form of cancer had kill ..read more

Today is supposed to be the first day of Spring, hmm not here in the UK!  It has been raining all day again!  Yesterday was a little better and it did feel a bit like Spring but not today.  The rest of the week looks to be overcast and cold!  I think the sun has gone on holiday and forgotten about us!!!!! I am busy planning my Spring Cleaning despite the weather but before that I intend to do a little decluttering.  You know what it’s like over the course of a year you collect things, thinking oh that will be of use and you store it in a cupboard or the attic or the ga ..read more

Last week flew by and I don’t think my feet touched the ground once!!  Nothing really big happening just life but the days flew by!!  Had a lovely day today as Jayne and I went for lunch and caught up with each other.  Last weekend we had the weekend mostly to ourselves but did have a swimming competition on Saturday evening which our Club won.  So pleased for them all. Sunday I took dinner up to the new parents, the girls and Tobey and spent some time with them.  Tobey is now looking more like a baby but definitely like his Daddy when he was a baby. This week again is ..read more

Thursday March 7th 2024 We never need an excuse here to talk about Books and today Is World Book Day!  Our Boys loved World Book Day as they both loved books from being little.  DH and I always bought them books whenever we were near a book shop and for various holidays like upcoming Easter.  They always had an Easter Egg but a book as well.  They went to school dressed as various authors or characters from their favourite books and for a long while they were both Harry Potter!  I am determined this year to read through my TBR shelf and try and refrain from buying any ..read more

Happy Leap Day 2024 We haven’t had a Throwback Thursday for a while so I have had a look through our pictures. Thought you would like this one; Eldest at one day old top picture and Tobey at one day old bottom picture.  I think you can tell who Tobey’s Daddy is? The Boys at February School Half Term in London 2005, almost twenty years ago!  Where does the time go.  Eldest was nine and Youngest was five. We also visited The British Library and this was one of the seats in the entrance. Treacle asleep on Eldest’s bed in the sewing room. She loved keeping me company whilst I was se ..read more

Ever since Eldest moved out and I have been camping in his room with my sewing things, I forgot to show you some pictures.  Finally got around to doing some pictures.  Coco in her basket in the room. Eldest when he moved back, moved the room round so his desk which sat this way originally was moved to the other wall to get a kingsize bed in.  Fortunately we had kept Youngest’s desk which was freestanding so put that here. The shelves in the room with my things on which I think I have found most of them now, having packed it all up when Eldest moved back! DH & The Boys bought ..read more

I had a busy weekend.  Youngest took me on an extra long walk as the weather had been better after all the rain we have had in recent weeks. Mom gave me a long brush and cleaned my teefths!!! Here I am with Youngest next to the Reservoir where we were walking.  Although the paths are very good it was still very muddy and I had to have a wash when I got home.  At least it was not raining. I was so tired afterwards I fell asleep next to my bed and the door was keeping me propped up!!! I did get in my basket eventually and when I was asleep on my back I was grinning in my sleep ..read more

After what seems like years of rain this Winter, we finally had some sunshine on Saturday and it was so nice.  Of course it was frosty the next morning and cold but that did not matter, we saw the sun!!! I ran out of time to put any bulbs into the pots in Autumn so there is a distinct lack of flowers coming up but the Primulas and the Snowdrops are flowering, as well as the Christmas Roses. Still need to do a lot of tidying in the garden but definitely when the weather is better, I am a fair weather gardener!!!  Coco had a very busy weekend which she will tell you about tomorrow ..read more
