We all deserve a treat now and again, but I feel like we’re increasingly falling into the habit of relying on money to make us happy. Personally, I don’t have as much spare cash as I used to, so I’ve had to really re-consider the ways in which I treat myself after a long week. You can practice self-care without breaking the bank. Here are just a few things you can try: Invite your friends over. Instead of heading to the pub or going out for a meal, why not invite your friends over for some quality time? Catch up over a cup of tea and just enjoy each others company. Take a bath. Ther ..read more

I’m always super nervous to try new skincare products. But, recently, I’ve been searching for cruelty-free and earth-friendly items to introduce into my beauty routine. When Peachy Fox London got in touch with me, I was super excited to sample some of their natural, organic and ethically-made products. Peachy Fox London Anti-Redness Facial Cream Disclaimer: I did receive this product for free from Peachy Fox London, but, as always, all opinions are my own.  I chose the Anti-Redness Facial Cream from their Amazon store. It promised to calm the appearance of redness and be kind to rosa ..read more

Autumn has finally arrived. As you may know, it’s my favourite time of the year. I actually wrote this post last year about why I love autumn so much. This year, I thought I’d share some of the things I’m hoping to do this season. Spend a rainy afternoon in a coffee shop. Go pumpkin picking. Get dressed up. Sneak some spooky accessories into my everyday outfits. Carve a pumpkin pal. Enjoy a bowl of hot soup. Have a scary-but-not-too-scary film night. Bake something delicious. Cook up some tummy-warming food. Do some autumn-inspired crafts. Spend the whole time in big, cosy jumpers. Go fo ..read more

Affordable Lifestyle at Boohoo Big and Tall

Whilst there’s a lot of hype in the media about there being a limited choice for plus size women, I think we often forget the lack of options out there for men. That’s why I’m pleased to see the new Boohoo Big and Tall range. Disclaimer: I received these items for free from Boohoo, but all opinions remain my own.   Let’s get one thing straight, I don’t think that Aaron (model, boyfriend, and MSc Graduate haha) is actually ‘plus size’, as such. He’s a bit like me; somewhere in between – it all depends on the brand. He’s also scarily like me in the way that his weight fluctuates ..read more

For quite a while now, I have had a bit of a creativity slump. I’ve not wanted to create; it’s like I’ve become tired and bored with it almost. I feel like I’ve lost a limb because my creative side is huge part of who I am. So, I’ve been trying different things to re-inspire myself. If you’ve been feeling the same, these tips might help you too. Let others re-inspire you. This isn’t as lazy as the heading suggests, I promise. Often, I spend so much time writing and creating, that I don’t have much energy left to read and appreciate other people’s work. As a blogger, this can leave me feeling q ..read more

Transitioning into Autumn with VOLD Fashion

September is a funny time of the year, isn’t it? Whilst summer is definitely over and it’s not warm enough to risk leaving your house without a jacket, it’s not that cold that you can get away with wearing a full-on coat. This blazer from VOLD Fashion might be the perfect solution. VOLD Fashion started out in a bedroom in London but has now evolved into a popular online store. They sell a beautiful array of vintage and designer pieces, predominantly from the 80s and 90s. They kindly got in touch with me to ask if I wanted to try one of their pieces. Of course, I said yes! I love sup ..read more

Lush New Shampoo Bar Review

Switching from a regular bottled shampoo to a solid bar was, at first, a little weird. Gone are the days of squeezing a huge blob of goo into my palm and massaging it through my roots and ends. But, it does mean that I’m chucking away less plastic and saving money in the long run. Lush New Shampoo Bar. …and the shampoo is pretty good too, of course! The ‘New’ Shampoo Bar is actually the second solid shampoo I’ve tried from Lush. I was drawn to its bright ruby colouring and its deliciously rich cinnamon scent. It promised to promote healthy, shiny hair with its stimulating ingredients of cinnam ..read more

It’s that time of year again when nervous 17 and 18-year-olds across the country are handed that daunting envelope that basically holds the key to your future. I can’t believe that was a whole five years ago for me. In fact, I still surprise myself when I tell people that I’ve been graduated over a year now. I knew that the University of Hull was the right choice for me as soon as I stepped foot on campus. The friendly vibe, the beautiful buildings and the cheap beer suited me down to a tee. If you’re considering going through Clearing to find a place that suits you, here’s why you should take ..read more

My Sunday Routine: How to Improve your Week

A Sunday well spent brings a week of content. This is perhaps one of my favourite quotes, because it’s so true! Although I love vegging out on a Sunday, it’s also good to get a few of those pesky chores done before the new working week starts. Here are some things I do on a Sunday to make my week run a little more smoothly. Pop a wash on. Get your washing done for the week ahead. I try to put a cycle on first thing when I get up on a Sunday morning so that I can get it out to dry in time for Monday. You’ll thank yourself later in the week when your clothes are hung up in your wardrobe, c ..read more

Getting Clean: My Everyday Shower Routine

It may seem a little odd describing what I do in the shower. But, I have done one of these before and really enjoyed it. Who doesn’t love being nosey and finding out what products people love? Brushing dat booty. That title probably sounds horrific, unless you’re familiar with body brushing. I’ve been doing this on and off for a good couple of years now and I think it works. If not, it definitely feels great. Body brushing is supposed to increase circulation and reduce your wobbly bits, basically. I still have said wobbly bits, but I would recommend this step to anyone. The Body Shop Bod ..read more
