(F23) Quitting weed on the first of the month, been smoking almost daily since I was 14. Pretty damn nervous about removing what feels like a safety net but it’s become the glue that is holding me back in life and I’m ready to face facts. Any thoughts/advice on mary jane/sobriety is appreciated. xo submitted by /u/westsidesteez [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

So, I’m on day 3, feel tired and been binge snacking. No anger or agitation, just exhausted. I’m going strong, no urge to drink. Just bored. Anyone got any hacks or apps to fidget or watch? submitted by /u/righteous-queef [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Sober with a spouse who drinks
Getting sober and sober living! - Reddit

I’m almost 6 weeks sober and so happy for it. It’s changed my life. It’s challenging at times but I never regret staying sober. It’s opened so many doors for my mental and physical health. I’m okay with my spouse drinking. It doesn’t bother me. But when he stays up late on a regular weekday drinking and blasting music it just makes me cringe. I know I who I shouldn’t judge, and I dont. I get it, I’ve been there. But he knows about how hard getting sober was for me. And I just feel like he should drink when it’s appropriate.. not like this. Anyone else have this problem? I am not qualified to ..read more

I’m (24F) 99 days sober today, which is the longest I’ve ever had after 3 past stints in rehab where I relapsed after 30 days. my IOP case manager let me know I’ll be discharged early may. She gave two sober livings here in Ohio that I could go to afterwards. I have nothing keeping me here and honestly would love a change of scenery. I’ve burned bridges with a lot of potential employers in this area as well. I have no family here in Ohio, my parents are moving to North Carolina in June. Do you think I should move somewhere with a substantial recovery community? I’m thinking either Florida or ..read more

Hey friends I’m looking for tips on how to get back that spark or ways of getting back to doing the things I used to enjoy. I know it’s gonna take time but life after drugs and covid has really messed up my mentality and I wanna find the joy in things like music and going out and watching movies and all that other fun life stuff that I used to enjoy. I have a good job and good family so that’s a big battle of the battle I’m willing to fight for. Thanks for any advice :) submitted by /u/175junkie [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello! I stopped drinking 880 days ago. The first couple of years were reasonably smooth - I felt a bit sad and bored but took sertraline for a bit before coming off it (made me tired). I got new hobbies, I got a sober boyfriend, I got a new job, I bought a flat. I even started going to the gym. My diet is pretty healthy. I’ve had a therapist for years. Have had phases of going to sauna regularly to treat circumstantial stress. Got a cat. Socialise once or twice a week if I can - less than before the pandemic, but that’s life. In the past few months I’ve been getting these crazy bad moods whi ..read more

220 days sober and I got the thirst today

My mechanic moved heaven and earth to get my new car ready for me today, so I promised him a lovely bottle of whiskey as a thank you. I went to pick it up, got him Gentleman Jack which used to be my drink of choice in the before days. I got in the car, looked down, and it looked so appealing and appetising, down to the sound it made in the bottle, and the colour. I literally started salivating thinking about how it would taste. I went straight back into the shop and bought a bottle of water to sip on immediately, and the moment passed, but that moment scared me. I thought about all my hard wo ..read more
