MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO. — North Dakota Hockey takes on Michigan Friday night in their first round of the NCAA Men’s Hockey Tournament.
The Fighting Hawks come into the matchup with the eighth toughest strength in the schedule in the country but will face one of their greatest challenges yet against the Wolverines who skate into the game ranked 11th in the nation.

FARGO, N.D. — North Dakota State Women’s Basketball continues their post-season run in the WNIT. Their next stop takes them down to Minnesota for a battle with the Golden Gophers.
NDSU comes into the matchup fresh off a 72-63 home win over the Montana Grizzlies. Meanwhile, the Gophers played their way into the Super 16 by defeating Pacific, 77-62 Tuesday night.
The Bison visited Minnesota in November and lost to the Gophers 75-53. The Bison feel they have improved tremendously since that last meeting however as they prepare for the challenge that awaits them Friday night.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — The city of Fargo is asking residents to help fill a number of positions on city boards and committees.
There are currently seven vacancies, but only three people have expressed interest.
Mayor Tim Mahoney is encouraging residents to get involved and help shape the direction of Fargo’s future.

WILLISTON (KVRR) – A family in North Dakota is asking for help as one of their own has been missing since late February. Breeanna Ward went missing in Williston, and the local police department has been following multiple leads and searched areas trying to find her.
Ward is listed as 27-years-old, is 5’6” and around 125 pounds. She also has brown eyes.
Ward’s sister in Jamestown says despite her moving from location to location out west, she has always kept communication with the family.

FARGO (KVRR) – Kidney Health is very important because it can impact anyone. The same goes for Margie Erickson. The grandma from Hawley was recovering from heart surgery three years ago when her doctor asked her about her kidney disease.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — An arrest is made after a deadly stabbing last night outside a south Fargo bar.
Police arrested 28-year-old Michael Diedrich in south Fargo around 1:30 this afternoon and he is being held for murder.
They were called to the parking lot of SouthTown PourHouse and Duane’s House of Pizza just before 1 a.m. where they found an adult male stabbing victim.
He was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
During the investigation, police learned Diedrich and the victim were arguing before they were both told to leave the establishment by staff.

CLAY COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — Two teens are in the Clay County Juvenile Detention Center after leading authorities on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle.
Minnesota State Patrol says a trooper tried to make a traffic stop on I-94 near Barnesville around 1:30 this afternoon.
The vehicle didn’t stop and took the Barnesville exit off the interstate.
The driver then went west on County Road 2.
The trooper used a pursuit intervention technique, east of Comstock and two 15-year-olds were taken into custody.
Charges are pending.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) — Two boys are in juvenile detention in Moorhead after grabbing the cash of someone trying to purchase a gaming system after connecting on Facebook Marketplace.
When he arrived at an apartment entryway in the 1500 block of Belsly Boulevard Tuesday afternoon, he was confronted by the boys who grabbed his money, pushed him and ran.
During follow-up investigation, officers located one suspect.
The second boy turned himself in.
Both are facing robbery charges.

POLK CO., Minn. (KVRR) — Two men arrested after a report of a burglary in progress in Belgium Township in Polk County on Wednesday have been identified and charged.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Robert Fish of Warren, Minnesota and 34-year-old Richard Paulson of Emerado, North Dakota are both charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in the 2nd and 3rd degree.
Fish was arrested shortly after a search started around 6 a.m. yesterday morning.
Paulson fled the scene but was taken into custody a few hours later.
The investigation continues.

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. (KVRR) — Concerns about budget cuts at Thief River Falls Public Schools has resulted in a crowdfunding campaign for Challenger Elementary School.
A GoFundMe was set up with permission from the school district as long as it was set up by a non-district employee.
It was started by the wife of a technology teacher who says all funds donated will go directly to the Challenger Elementary School “Fund a Classroom” Fundraiser.
They will even provide documentation of the funds being transferred to the district.
