Residents spoke before the Coronado City Council for more than an hour on April 16, addressing beach fires.
Some wanted them banned, some wanted them preserved, some asked for a compromise between the two. Some audience members clapped, others murmured, and some prompted Mayor Pro Tem Casey Tanaka to ask for decorum.

Coronado High School student Kailani Lenert — who is also a captain of the CHS Robotics Team — entered the third annual Financial Literacy Superheroes Competition and won an Honorable Mention for her entry encouraging healthy financial literacy habits. Her “Lady Supersaver” entry earned an Honorable Mention in the 11-17 Category. She was honored with other winners from across San Diego County at an Awards Ceremony held at the Comic-Con Museum on Saturday, April 13.

With the championship season fast approaching, the Coronado Islanders track team stepped up with several outstanding performances at a league meet with Madison and the Jaguar Invite at Valley Center. Head coach Cameron Gary details the two events below.

Condos and single-family home sales continue to outstrip supply. Coronado continues to be in a strong seller’s market and the Spring selling season only shows it getting stronger. The momentum throughout this first quarter has shown the trend to be moving in an upward direction in pricing pressure.

The Winn Room at the Coronado Library is an important meeting and event space that is heavily used by many community organizations and residents throughout the year. Since its construction in 1973, the Winn Room has experienced only minor updates over the decades and is in need of additional repairs.
