Is it possible for a seller to refuse to sell you his van? You wouldnt think so but the fast lane to get rejected is to say you want a pre-purchase inspection. I wouldnt have bothered to write about this but for the fact its happened to me three times in a row and maybe not for the reasons you are thinking.
Why is this happening? Solid, good vans are scarce so when one comes up, everyone is jumping and because of that, every van buyer who wants an inspection is competing with dealers/flippers who dont. The dealers only care about PRICE and right now. They pressure the seller to accept a lowba ..read more

So I was thinking of hooking up a 200 watt solar panel to the top of my van. I need advice on a battery to use. I was thinking of just buying a car battery or 2 but that seems like it wouldn’t work as intended. Also need advice on power inverter to hookup to said battery. All I need to charge is my laptop, tablet and phone. I’m tired of starting my car and idling for about a hour to charge everything. Any advice would be appreciated. I’m pretty new to Reddit but I would like pictures for reference if you can post that kind of thing here. Thank you for your time!

Any suggestions on how to repair this Camplux unit? It sounds like the company isn’t going to honor my warranty since the unit was “permanently installed.”

My van broke down in northern Michigan last weekend. In the five hours it took to sort things on the side of the road we had about 8 people stop and get out of their car to see if they could help, plus another dozen or so slow down until we gave them a thumbs up.
An AutoZone employee offered to drive me back to my van and take a look.
Once we got towed to a shop, I walked down the major road to a grocery store and a lady pulled into a parking lot to ask if I was okay or needed a ride.

I need some advice. First summer in the van. I am currently living in Florida and it's starting to get hot. Where would you go for the summer from here? I would prefer not to drive all the way to the Pacific Northwest. How about Colorado? Utah? Vs blue ridge mnts? Maine?
I've heard North east isn't all that much cooler in summer due to humidity, and maybe isn't too friendly to vanlifers.
Wondering if anyone could chime in and recommend a state or area I can go (travelling from Florida) to spend the summer months. Thanks!

I know nothing about vehicles reliability so I’m hoping I can get some advice from those can share their knowledge w/me. I will have to finance this van (I don’t have a lot of cash laying around to buy outright from a private party). What I’m really asking is are the Promaster anymore reliable than a Chevy Express or Ford E-150?
