Summer Safe Skin
The Red Brunette

Now that we're finally getting a bit of sun this summer (don't want to jinx it) it means we're sitting out on our lunch breaks and in beer gardens and all of our limbs exposed, so it's time to get the bottles of fake tan and suncream at the ready. During May I got a press release about it being skin cancer awareness month and I thought of this blogpost I wanted to write to first of all raise awareness about skin cancer and the importance of suncream but secondly recommend sunless tanners for those of us who just burn. So it may be two months later but here we are, summer safe skin.  I g ..read more

Utrecht Travel Guide

Well, it's definitely been a while so please forgive me if I've forgotten how to do all this. So I've finished third year of college and just got my wisdom teeth out so a week on the couch can get quite boring so I decided I'd finally start the Utrecht travel guide that I have been meaning to do since October. I'm a huge fan of travel diaries when you're going somewhere new so you can see how other people found the place, what they did and what they would or wouldn't recommend. I always look for them when I'm going away so I love doing them after visiting a place and hand over any gems I've fo ..read more

Five Years
The Red Brunette

So you're probably wondering where I've been and why I'm finally posting after this length of time but today is actually my 5th blogging birthday and I really didn't want to pass this milestone without mentioning it. A lot has changed in the last five years blogging-wise and I just want to have a chat about what's been going on with me and my blog (this will probably be a very long chatty one so I'll try and not word vomit too much!).  Dress & T-shirt (worn underneath) - Penneys  First of all, it's my first post in 2019 so Happy New Year, bit late to be saying that now I k ..read more

Now that exams are almost over and the last of assignments are handed it, it's finally time for Christmas and the festivities that come with it. It's time for the family nights, the friend reunions, the nights out because 'sher look it's Christmas'. And with all of that comes the 'I have nothing to wear' dilemma. So this is where this blogpost will hopefully help you with three outfit ideas for the different occasions  that you'll probably encounter over the festive season. The Family Gathering  Now the first occasion we're going to deal with is the family gathering. The struggle wi ..read more

Save On The Statement

Even though I hate to say it because I still think it's way too early, but the Christmas nights out and festivities are coming up very quickly. Thinking about what to wear is one thing but how to take your everyday makeup to the next level is another. You wouldn't mind splashing out on a foundation that you use every day or a nude lipstick you'll get the wear out of but you don't really want to spend all your money on a glitter you're going to use for a couple of nights out. I'm going to share some statement makeup products with you that will make your everyday look party ready without breakin ..read more

The Quarter Life Crisis
The Red Brunette

Ever since September and starting third year of college there's been a huge focus on your career and future in my course. Seeing people swanning around in graduation robes in college and hearing what they're doing with their life kind of freaks you out a bit, and this is when the quarter life crisis kicks in. As in, what the hell are we all doing with our lives? It's time to have a chat about the freaking out that 90% of people I've talked to are currently having about their future, career and life in general. First of all, it's completely normal to feel this way and as I've said so many peo ..read more

Skincare Switch
The Red Brunette

I'm an absolute skincare addict and I feel like everyone is switching up their skincare recently, me included. I've seen so many skincare hauls and new routines everywhere online so I decided to share my recent skincare repurchases, some new additions to my routine and some old skincare favourites just in case you're thinking of doing a skincare switch.  The Ordinary Cold-Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil  This first product is fairly new to my routine but I didn't want to talk about it until I was sure I was a fan. Rosehip oil is meant to be amazing for acne scars when used for a while so ..read more

Today's post has actually been a while in the pipeline so I'm delighted that I am finally sharing it with ye, it's a collab with Darragh. If you don't know who he is then you mustn't know me at all but he's my twin brother who also happens to have a blog where he shares food, lifestyle and music. We've been wanting to do a collab for a long time but couldn't figure out what to share on both of our blogs that are still true to the topics that we share but the other is interested in too.  After weeks of planning and discussing we finally figured it out. I'm sharing 3 of our typical colleg ..read more

Today's blogpost has been a while in the pipeline because I wanted to do it well, it's what makes Cork Cork, like. I've done a few 'Best Places To Eat In Cork' blogposts but this one is a bit different, it's the Corkonians guide to Cork. I'm going to share a few of my favourite Cork places and things you should do and see as well as some great Cork food and drink thrown in too. The first place I'm going to share is definitely the most touristy place, The English Market. Have a stroll around and see all the artisan, fresh and sometimes interesting foods around. My favourite place to stop is O ..read more

The Beauty Secrets
The Red Brunette

So today's blogpost idea came from my brother Darragh, he said to me one day that I should share things like how I wash my brushes and things that you haven't talked about before. I'm going to talk through 5 of my beauty secrets or products that no one really talks about that I swear by. The not so glamorous things and I guess you could say a follow on from my sticky note to get winged eyeshadow trick (if you don't know that one then you must have been living under a rock).   The first thing which is a new addition to my beauty routine is using Baby Oil to shave. If you have sensitive ..read more
