The commercial Dungeness crab season in California will be curtailed to protect humpback whales from becoming entangled in trap and buoy lines, officials announced Thursday. The state Department of Fish and Wildlife said commercial crabbing will end April 8 for waters between the Mendocino-Sonoma county line and the border with Mexico. A Pennsylvania man attacked and killed his neighbor this week using a knife and a chain saw while wearing a mask and costume like the one from the movie “Scream,” officials said. The man, identified as Zak Moyer, 30, then returned home and watched a movie until police came, according to a criminal complaint from the Pennsylvania State Police. Two people were killed Thursday after a suspected DUI driver traveling at more than 100 mph clipped a UPS truck and went into oncoming traffic in Jefferson Park, the Los Angeles Police Department said. According to the LAPD, the crash occurred shortly before noon near the intersection of Arlington Avenue and W. 29th Street.
