For the past few months my husband has been trying to decide if our tow vehicle should have a diesel or gas engine. He has been researching this like crazy (did I mention driving me crazy in the process?) I now know way too much about the whole subject, so I thought I would share the results of his efforts and the conclusion he has reached. That way you don’t have to spend months hearing about this like I did… Why Diesel Might Be Better The diesel truck will give you more power, especially for going up and down hills. Diesel engines last a long time, too. You often hear of people putting 200 ..read more

I talk a big game about downsizing and decluttering.  I think I do okay…but here’s the dirty little secret, the thing I’m terrible about, the thing that is taking up way too much space in my house and I can’t move them all and I HATE dealing with it. These boxes are full of photos and memorabilia. PHOTOS! It’s pictures. We have boxes full of them. Every vacation, the kids growing up, our nieces and nephews and students and weddings and pets and and and… I know there are so many ways to do it. Put them in albums. One of the very few bonuses of all that covid mask wearing was not having to wear makeup. Or at least, only having to do your eyes lol. But now that we can show our real faces to the world it’s kind of fun to get glammed up again sometimes, as long as it’s not a pain. Make it easy by keeping only what you really use, and here’s the QUICK, super-easy way I found to DECLUTTER YOUR COSMETICS. Next time you are getting ready to, as my mom used to say, do ..read more

We did it! This has been a long-time (over 30 years) dream of Craig’s. Me, not so much, until a couple of years ago at a tiny house festival in North Carolina, he got me on board an awesome bus (more on that later), which got me on board with the whole idea. The School Bus So here she is…is she a she? I guess we’ll figure that out when we learn her name. She’s a 2004 Thomas Saf-T-Liner EF MVP, 28′ long, 24 valve 5.9 Cummins with Allison transmission. We got her from Andrew and Hilarie Whittle @thewhittlewagon. Knowing them and their vast experience was a big factor in our choice; if they said ..read more
