Area 52 is having an RC event Saturday 4/20/24 Does anyone have any details? Stumbled upon this field out driving saw a sign up about it when we pulled up. Walked from the parking lot because the gate was locked. Had a few planes out flying around. Nice field and nice folks. Again, I Appreciate any information on this event. Thinking of using this for a balsa bird's main gear legs, since a 6" piece weighs less than a quarter ounce. Any ideas how to prevent it from turning into a hammer against the wingspar on a hard landing?

https://www.printables.com/model/576144-carbon-cub-s2-gear-repair-and-standard-battery-tra For those with a 3D printer and a Carbon Cub S2 I have modified my previous gear reinforcement tray to be even better. The tray now has a fillet where it seats into the stock battery compartment. This allows it to sit deeper in the compartment leaving even more room for thicker batteries and your wiring. While its a small change it helps with getting the battery door closed with no gaps which was a pet peeve of the old design for me. This tray reinforces the area around the stock gear wire mounts. Hey everyone, this is just an update post (original post here) for anyone interested. I've mostly finalised my CAD model, just need to add servo cut outs and control surfaces to my wings & then add box joints too all the joining edges. I will soon start production of my autonomous flying plane which is made to hopefully create aerial maps. I'm yet to do any CFD analysis of my plane which I plan on doing. I modelled the airfoil after the clark-y air foil, however I used this video to get the general shape which I moved various points around to achieve as close to the clark-y airfoil as ..read more
