I recently served as host of PBS’s Innovation TV show Make48! During that experience I was able to interact with engineers and product designers from Trek Bicycle. It was so cool to learn about all of the innovation that goes into creating bicycles and bike share stations. This experience along with my personal love for bicycle riding is why I was so excited to answer the Mystery Science question: How were bicycles invented? Through the Star Wars: Force for Change philanthropic initiative, Disney provides financial support as well as mentorship and storytelling opportunities to inspire, strengthen, and diversify interest in science and technology careers! This experience along with my personal love for Star Wars is why I was so excited to answer the Myste ..read more

During my visit to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio I learned that amusement parks can be as educational as they are entertaining. I had the entire park to myself to conduct some amusement park themed experiments for "It's Not Magic, It's Science!" In addition to conducting the experiments I was able to ride a few of my favorite roller coasters and spend some time with the maintenance teams that help keep the rides running! During this incredible visit I realized that there numerous ways young people can be engaged in STEM at amusement parks that ignite their natural curiosity, grow the ..read more

During my earliest years, we didn't have much but my household was filled with love and my mind was always overflowing with curiosity. Large boxes were one of my favorite things to play with. They could be anything if I put enough imagination into them! That imagination eventually grew into a passion for problem-solving. Now I'm on a mission to change the world by inspiring young minds to keep doing cool things with science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). I want to empower a generation of young people with the knowledge and resources required to invent the change they want to see i ..read more
