Dr. Shafron told me years ago that he cares what the tests show but he REALLY cares what the mom says even if they differ from the test results! He actually said that studies have been done of “CT scans vs. Moms and it’s a wash”!  So moms – advocate for your kids!  God has given us HIS wisdom with our kids. For those who aren’t on FB…Ruby had a horrific seizure on Thursday, February 8th and she and I went to PCH by ambulance. By God’s grace, her nurse, Chante, was just walking out but turned at the same time I did to see the seizure beginning. Chante, was literally airborne as she dove over the ottoman for the oxygen mask (which was right beside Ruby) while turning on the tank to full blast as I grabbed the rescue meds. Yesterday one of our kids and I were flying home from attending a monumental event in our family. Our first flight had landed in Atlanta and we were grabbing a bite to eat on the layover. Dw had flown a different airline, had not taken off for home yet and so he was not even as “close” to home as we were. While sitting in the Atlanta airport Dw called. On Saturday, August 5 Ruby had a horrible seizure and she and I came by ambulance. It’s 9:17pm over here in Arizona and I have just gotten Ruby into bed. She is partying loudly as I type. She really is hysterical. Jubilee usually helps me with all the things that are necessary to get ready for her to go to bed. Elizabeth is often working in the evenings but tonight she is home and came in to see if I needed any help. At one point, while I was changing Ruby, Elizbeth asked Ruby a question. Ruby and I have a most miraculous story to share that I thought I would share today. However, we changed it up a speck.. After hearing the story, anyone who ever has wondered if God really exists, if He even cares or if He is involved in our lives….. So I noticed something the other day…. When Ruby had the horrible seizure in early February & then Dw had “the medical event” which turned out to be an eye stroke at the end of February – most of you on Facebook used the “hug” emoji to show your concern and kindness. Oh friends! Wait till you hear how kind the Lord was during all the events that unfolded with Dw on February 28th. It’s always so good to record the things the Lord has done – that way we can remember His unending faithfulness. This is definitely a story for our Memorial Box! We cannot thank Him enough for how He protected, provided and even surprised us. UPDATE: March 3, 2023 Noon Dear Friends, It appears Dw had a Cryptogenic Stroke which (in my completely non-medical expertise) I believe, is a fancy word for a TIA. (He has had 2 TIAs in the past but not for many, many years.) While pulling out of the hospital the neurologist called him to say that there is some concern with one number that is quite elevated. He warned him that should he have any of this, this or that to come right back. He is also wearing a heart monitor “for at least a month”. He just wants to sleep and sleep.
