How do you scale aroma hops from different batches (different alpha acid composition)? Let's say I have written a recipe that calls for the 5% alpha acid Hallertauer Mittelfrüh I had at home when writing the recipe, but the next batch I bought only have 3%. For bittering hops it's easy, just aim for the same IBU. But what do you do with aroma hops? I usually use the same amount of hops as the recipe calls for and ignore IBU, but really interested in what others are doing. Been searching... Read more ..read more

I was previously using a DIY chiller made from a window AC unit. It worked but was loud and not very efficient. I got a deal on an aquarium chiller so I planned out a new build. It has 2 closed circuits to independently cool 2 fermenters Spike 10 conical that I typically fill to 14gal and a 1/2 barrel sanke keg that will be 14gal Trial runs are showing 53-54 F with no struggle. Pressure transfer question

I completed my first closed pressure transfer today. I experienced an issue I have a question about. From the regulator about 6” down the gas line froze nearly solid and I lost way more CO2 than expected. Everything else went to plan. This regulator did not previously have a leak and it is used often. After it warmed back up, I raised the pressure back to 10+ (I pushed at 2) and it worked. I found no leaks. If anyone has had this beer, they know why I am asking for input. I should start by saying that I have no experience in soda dispensing, beer yes, soda no. I'm wanting to add a wunder bar dipsenser to my home bar setup. I found a wunder bar dispenser and carbonator, and I have a spare 20lb co2 tank with regulator. If I understand correctly, the only other parts I need are a syrup pump for each flavor, and a cold plate. Hey fellow brewers, I've got a batch of wine just about ready to go into the bottle but when I looked in the basement it turns out I only have magnums and champagne bottles. Anyone in the Twin Cities area have excess 750ml bottles they aren't using. I'm happy to figure out a trade if you need the magnums or champagne bottles. Howdy, I'm Clement, born and raised in Switzerland and now living in Sweden. I started out brewing with cider as a way to use the bountiful apples in our garden, and had my horizons widened by a gotlandsdricka kit I bought while learning more about Gutnish culture.
