A Third Birthday

It was little one’s third birthday last week and I can honestly say I don’t know where the last three years have gone. On the one hand it feels like only yesterday since she arrived, six days early, and yet I struggle to remember a time that she hasn’t been a part of our lives. We celebrated with family days out, presents, lots of chocolate, and a party; surely perfect for any three year old. She had the most amazing week and constantly gave me reasons to be so, so proud of her! A Third Birthday – Legoland A couple of days before the big day we went to LEGOLAND Windsor which was a brilliant da ..read more

This on paper is for us being dairy, egg, nut and soya free! Sainsbury’s Deliciously Free From HamPer It arrived in a lovely box, and was packed with a variety of free from treats. 2nd Birthday Blog Giveaway
Mummy Bakes Dairy Free

mummybakesdairyfree has been going for two years now, so I thought I’d have a little 2nd Birthday Blog Giveaway! When I started sharing the dairy free food I was making for little one, I never imagined that two years later I would have a website, over a thousand followers, and have been nominated for an award. Unfortunately the reason why mummybakesdairyfree has made it to two years is because little one still suffers from food allergies. This year has seen her be able to tolerate both soya and egg in greater amounts, so I am always hopeful she will still outgrow her allergies. You can read mo ..read more

As we come to the end of Allergy Awareness Week, I thought I would post our favourite allergy friendly recipes. In particular the recipes which prove you don’t have to miss out on good food whilst being allergy aware. Having a food allergy can often make cooking tricky, especially when catering for multiple allergies. The recipes I have included try to accommodate a range of different allergies or are easily adaptable to suit different dietary requirements. Allergy friendly recipes Breakfast: Pancakes (dairy, egg, nut and soya free. vegan) Banana & Oat Breakfast Muffins (dairy, egg, nut, s ..read more

This week is Allergy Awareness Week (24th to 30th April) with the focus this year being on allergic eczema. If you have been following mummybakesdairyfree for a while then you will be aware of little one’s allergy journey. Eczema has been a large part of this and is one that still affects her life most days. For those of you who may not know, little one had pretty horrible eczema from a couple of months old. It has only been in the past few months that the flare ups have reduced, and the daily smothering of lotions and potions has decreased. Little One and Eczema Little one’s dad and I are no ..read more

Last week I was invited to attend a Babease weaning cookery masterclass with fellow parent bloggers at the Cactus Kitchens in Clapham. This was exciting for many reasons! Firstly it was a night out! Win! Secondly, it was a chance to meet other parent bloggers. Thirdly, I hoped it would be a chance to get inspired in the kitchen again, which it definitely was! Lastly, I was looking forward to eating some yummy food. Cooking station So before I tell you about my evening let’s talk about Babease. They’re a company which makes Food for babies, not baby food. Their organic food pouches contain (wh ..read more

Tesco Free From Cake Mix – Review & Creations!

During the last couple of my Tesco weekly shops I have popped a free from cake mix into my trolley. Before I continue, the recipes I create and include in my blog are, on the whole, healthy. This one isn’t particularly healthy but it’s not something we have everyday. Plus, in my opinion, life is to be enjoyed, everything in balance etc, etc… Tesco Free From Chocolate Cake Mix So getting onto the cake mixes. There is a chocolate cake mix and a vanilla one. I obviously needed to try both (for research purposes)! I made both cake mixes into cupcakes as they are more practical in my house, little ..read more

With Valentine’s Day next Tuesday I’ve collected together some of my favourite valentines-y recipes, new and old, from my website into one Free From Valentines list. Val Like most other celebrations, festivities, dates in the calendar, Valentine’s Day isn’t the most allergy friendly. Chocolate that is suitable for little one isn’t the easiest to find. Our go-to brand is Moo Free as it is soya free as well as dairy free. They do a brilliant range of bars and packets of buttons, but I haven’t come across a box of filled chocolates. You know, the Milk Tray variety. Although we don’t really do Val ..read more

Weaning and Babease
Mummy Bakes Dairy Free

We started the weaning process with little one just over two years ago. Little one was six months old before she was introduced to her first tastes. The decision to wait until then was for a couple of reasons. If you’ve followed mummybakesdairyfree you’ll know that little one wasn’t formally confirmed with a Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy until she was six months old. This was when she had a positive skin prick test. She had been on dairy free milk from 4/5 months after being diagnosed with an allergy by a paediatrician. I was reluctant to introduce little one to potential allergens until we had h ..read more

Veganuary Round Up

As Veganuary draws to a close, I’m taking a look back at my favourite vegan recipes from the month and past mummybakesdairyfree posts. Vegan baking and cooking is an area that I often refer to when looking for dairy and egg free recipes, and many you can find on my blog already. I much prefer using and creating free from recipes which use appropriate alternatives, so vegan recipes are a fantastic resource. Since weaning little one on a dairy and egg free diet, our consumption of these products as a whole family has greatly reduced.
