By the end of March, I will be permanently shutting down The Tummy Train. But fear not, I won’t be saying goodbye to blogging just yet. I simply want to be able to blog at my own pace, without pressuring myself to make what I’m paying for domains and website plans “worth it”. The truth is, with the readership numbers I’ve been having the past few months, it just isn’t worth it anymore lol. Dwindling readership aside, I’ve mentioned that I’ve been feeling burnt out the last few months. The stress from trying to repair technical issues on the blog also hasn’t helped. In the end, all these factor ..read more

Elegant Rose Cardamom Latte Recipe [VIDEO]

This Rose Cardamom Latte is an elegant and lovely partner to the Lavender Banana Bread I made! I decided to write a separate post for this Rose Cardamom Latte because I didn’t want to overcrowd my Lavender Banana Bread post with too many photos. I actually ended up taking a TON of photos for both the banana bread and this latte even though going in I had no idea if I was going to love the recipes enough to blog about them. It’s a good thing I did, because now I can enthusiastically talk about this combo with lots of visual aid lol. You obviously don’t have to make this recipe along with the ..read more

Lavender Banana Bread with Lemon Glaze- a new favorite [VIDEO]

If you’ve never baked with lavender before, this Lavender Banana Bread is a great introduction. Brushed with Lemon Glaze for extra pizzaz! An epiphany in the form of banana bread I used to be hesitant when it came to making things with dried flowers. I suppose a lot of that hesitation came from the fact that I could not predict whether the end product would be received well or not by the people who consume the things I make (aka friends and family). So I just kept shoving the idea to the back of my mind. Of course, I did eventually realize this was a completely wrong approach. If there’s one ..read more

Easy Meal Idea: Mushroom Truffle Pasta with Easy Baked Spiced Chicken [VIDEO]

Delicious in their simplicity but also endlessly customizable, this pairing of Mushroom Truffle Pasta and Easy Baked Spiced Chicken makes for a satisfying meal! My first truffle recipe A while back, I received a PR package from DyGen Food Ventures containing packages of bulgur and a bottle of Umbria Tartufi White Truffle Flavored Oil. This was my first bottle of truffle oil, and to say that I was excited to use it would be an understatement. (Naturally, I cooked the bulgur too, and the posts about that will come in due time.) The first thing I wanted to make, without a doubt, was a basic Tru ..read more

This Spicy Garlic Noodles served with Tamarind Chicken is another great noodle and chicken combo that’s perfect for weekday dinners! Another great noodles & chicken combo If you asked me what I wanted for Christmas 10 years ago, I likely would’ve answered with the name of a gadget. If you ask me today however, I would actually say that I want a legit indoor grill. Not a new iPhone or MacBook, but a grill! Apparently my imagination isn’t as wild as I deemed it to be, because I never even imagined I would ever wish for a grill lol. My Amazon wishlist right now is actually made up of a weir ..read more

My favorite Lemon Blueberry Cake & Blueberry Caffe Latte [VIDEO]

This sublime Lemon Blueberry Cake deserves a spot in your regular blueberry season rotation, as does the Blueberry Caffe Latte I paired it with! Fineness in simplicity Currently, one of my favorite seasons is blueberry season. Usually it’s autumn lol, but ever since I started baking with blueberries it’s been impossible to deny how much I look forward to being able to bake with them every year. Frankly I like eating them on their own just as much, but it feels like a sin not to put them in a dessert at least once during the entire season, considering how lengthy it is. That said, I can’t thi ..read more

Tablea-Filled Ensaymada with Hot Tsokolate Tablea [VIDEO]

Fluffy and rich ensaymada filled with a fudgy and chocolatey tablea filling. You’ll want to level up your homemade ensaymada with this recipe! I’ve kind of missed this If you love ensaymada, or any sort of rich bread for that matter, then you’re going to love this recipe. This recipe produces one of those ensaymada variants that have a little something special to level it up, if you will. Not only is it buttery and cheesy, it’s got a delightful chocolatey filling to boot. The last time I shared an ensaymada recipe was a LOOOOOONG time ago, when I wrote about these panaderia-style ensaymada ..read more
