Hi everyone, I was wondering what Methodists do during a Maundy Thursday service. I was thinking about attending one tomorrow. I’ve heard there’s foot washing? Is it expected of everyone to participate in? Just curious. Thanks in advance :) submitted by /u/SureEducator7209 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello, I have a Christian groupchat for anyone who's either a new convert, curious about the faith or has a calling to intercede for others. The group is made from people of all faith backgrounds uniting to learn more about Our Lord everyday. Everyday we post a Bible reading so that can remind you to read the Bible. Moreover, we give daily advice on Christianity. You can ask any question you like, (even the controversial ones). We need new members to pray for each other and share the faith. Please join the group if you are interested. https://chat.whatsapp.com/HVhWxKgsCTCJJoH6NrPmER This is t ..read more

If someone professes their Christianity while behaving in an unchristian manner, would they still be considered by God for salvation?

In daily life, some Christians are vocal about their belief while being sly, petty, greedy, hateful, abusive, deceptive, aggressive, manipulative and even causing great harm to society those surrounding them. These behaviour is nowhere aligned with the gospel. In this case, would those being such still be saved by God? submitted by /u/AbleismIsSatan [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Confusion associated with "salvation by faith alone"
Reddit - Methodism
by /u/AbleismIsSatan

Lutherans and some conservative evangelicals believe that faith in Christ alone is enough for salvation to be possible. Arminians, especially Methodists disagreed, saying that true faith cannot subsist in the absence of good works, with an emphasis on Christian perfection. Different Christians seem to have conflicting views on the matter. If faith alone is what matters, wouldn't it encourage folks to act like pharisees, i.e. professing the faith without behaving accordingly, which exactly went against what Jesus taught? submitted by /u/AbleismIsSatan [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What do Methodists generally think about the question of the "fate of the unlearned" ?

For folks who were/are not Christian and/or did/do not have the chance to learn about Christ but behaved/behave more virtuously in their life than many Christians, do you think they would be saved by God? This question is very controversial on other Christian subreddits due to the presence of a significant amount of terminally online and mostly Southern Baptist extremist evangelicals who possess the misguided hateful belief that all non-Christians including Orthodox Jews have to be damned. Having said that, what do Methodists generally think about this question? submitted by /u/AbleismIsSata ..read more

What are the major theological differences between Methodists and Baptists in your opinion?

I read from studies that Methodists and Baptists were the two largest groups among American Protestants. They are sometimes lumped together as "evangelicals" in a pejorative sense due to some problematic views held by the extreme sects. However, they are not the same group in any sense – what are the major theological differences between Methodists and Baptists in your opinion? submitted by /u/AbleismIsSatan [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey friends, If you are Nazarene, I have created a new subreddit for us!
