I am so thrilled to finally share with you our new product. An All-Purpose Gluten-Free Flour Blend.   Skip to the good part, and buy it here!   I love to bake. It brings me joy. It’s how I show love. You won’t ever hear me call you a term of endearment, and you might get a high five from me instead of a hug, but you’ll know I love you when I show up on your birthday with a cake that I’ve made. (Or more recently, your wedding cake!)     For years I tried to get by with what was available in stores to make my gluten-free desserts, but I was left feeling like there was somet ..read more

What is Cinnamon?   Cinnamon is a spice that is made from the inner bark of several species of trees in the genus Cinnamomum. It has a sweet, warm, and slightly spicy flavor and is often used in cooking, baking, and beverages. Cinnamon can be found in two main forms: ground cinnamon and cinnamon sticks.   Cinnamon has been used for thousands of years for both culinary and medicinal purposes. Luke’s Birth Story

It’s been 10 weeks since our second baby was born, and I finally made time to share his birth story! His birth was just as miraculous as his conception was, and I’m really excited to share this story.   Photo by Pittsburgh Born Photography   This experience was very different from my experience with Isla’s birth. I never shared Isla’s birth story here on the blog. I have talked about it a lot on Instagram, but not here. I think the only reason is because I started sharing about our IVF experience in February of 2020, and then got caught up in the start of the pandemic with a 4 month ..read more

So… I wrote this post back in August, and now it’s January, and I’m 32 weeks, and realized I never shared it. Oops! I hope you all enjoy this post about conceiving baby #2! Hi everyone! I can’t believe I’m writing this blog post, but yes, we are having another baby, and I’m still in shock. I didn’t blog about my pregnancy with Isla, but shared about going through IVF after she was born. This experience has been completely different, so I hope it can offer some comfort and hope to those who are in need.   This experience has been different first and foremost because this time we didn’t ha ..read more

Homemade Fudge with Dairy-free Sweetened Condensed Milk
Primal Palate | Paleo Recipes

I love making fudge, but I’ve only made it using regular sweetened condensed milk. Fudge is actually really easy to make once you know what is needed for it. As far as candy making goes, this is about as easy as it gets. All you need are 3 ingredients, chocolate, sweetened condensed milk, and butter.     For this recipe, I wanted to try my hand at making dairy-free condensed milk with my choice of sweetener. I looked at a handful of recipes online, and each recipe said you really could use any dairy alternative you’d like. Because I was doing this at the last minute, all we had on h ..read more

Holiday baking is something that brings me a lot of joy. I love being cozy in the kitchen with twinkle lights and Vince Guaraldi Trio on while I bake up something for the holidays. I particularly love baking anything gingerbread flavored. A few years ago I made grain-free gingersnap cookies that are crunchy and delicious.     I’ve made a Gingerbread Bundt Cake in the past that was lovely.     I made tasty Gingerbread Friends with our Magic Cookie Dough.     I’ve also made Gingerbread Loaf and Gingerbread Muffins.       This year I wanted to mak ..read more

Grain-Free Christmas Dinner Menu

In our family we celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas, and Christmas always feels like a week of really delicious meals.     A few days before Christmas we always go to Ohio to have a big family dinner with Bill’s dad’s side of the family. Christmas Eve is typically dinner with my family, and then Christmas day is dinner at Bill’s aunt’s house. Each meal has a roast, and potatoes, maybe a winter salad, and another green vegetable.       We always enjoy fun desserts as well. One year my cousin Paige and I made a gluten-free yule log, and it was delicious, and so fun to ..read more
