Customizing your Rear stabilizer to suit your riding style While the hydrofoil front wing has a lot to do with the overall feel, speed, and stability of your ride, the stabilizer plays a key role in developing the dna or “flavor” of your ride. Experimenting with tails is a great way to help figure out what you like and don’t like about your foil’s ride, as well as better adapt your foil to the day’s current conditions. So, let’s dive into tails a little deeper and help unlock some insights into the riding characteristics you might feel just by looking at the tail itself.   Stabiliz ..read more

How to Choose a Hydrofoil If you haven’t seen or heard of hydrofoiling by now, we would highly suggest you take a look at what is going on in this space and how it applies to our wonderful world of windsports. Not only can you experience a flying sensation like no other, but it also drastically reduces your wind speed requirements and makes staying upwind a breeze. When you add on the layer of the rapid growth of winging, prone foil, and downwind SUP foiling it’s getting harder and harder to separate the world of windsports from the hydrofoil these days.  With more and more emphasis on ..read more

The Space Mob crew has stacked all sorts of content over the winter riding these bad boys, which we are sharing all week on SOCIAL and some of our favorite new “once carrier cha ..read more

The Benefits of Using a Wing with Hard Handles – SlingWing V3 Hard Handle
Slingshot Sports
by Wyatt Miller

Most wingers know the benefits of having soft webbing handles. They provide a cushy suspension-like ride, limit grip fatigue, and allow wings to be packed down into a small convenient package. But what are the benefits of rigid handles? That answer depends on your level of riding.               Beginner riders will benefit from the ability to roll their wrists up to keep the wingtips from touching the water.   This wingtip wrist control provided by hard handles solves one of the first frustrating issues with learning to wing where the wingtip hi ..read more

The 10th anniversary of King Of The Air (KOTA) ran Saturday November 26th with gusts clocking more than 50 knots—the strongest wind ever recorded in KOTA history. For Slingshot rider Jeremy Burlando and myself, this was our first time coming to Cape Town, South Africa and experiencing KOTA. We were both impressed by the massive number of fans that came to watch and support the top 18 big air kiteboarders in the world. In the two weeks prior to KOTA, we got extremely unlucky with wind and Jeremy didn’t have a single day of training over 25 knots. Translation: Jeremy had not seen Cape Town p ..read more
