Hello fellow truckers! I recently obtained my CDL and, I've come across two potential job opportunities and would greatly appreciate some advice on which one might be the better fit for a rookie like myself.
Option 1: XPO Line Haul
- Route: Sparks, NV to Sacramento
- Pay: $31.26 per hour while on the dock, 88cpm while driving
Option 2: DOT Foods California/Nevada Regional
- Unsure on pay but most likely considerably less
If anyone has experience with either of these companies or has...

Not a new driver, but just trying to find a new way around my company's idle timeout. My company puts a 5 minute timer on the engine effect the temperature outside is below 91 degrees. Unfortunately the AC from the APU can't keep up with 80 degrees on a sunny day (black truck), so I was trying to find a method to keep my accelerator slightly pressed in order to prevent the engine from shutting off. Any tips for this balancing act ..read more

Good fuel discounts and low insurance. I am looking for dry van only (I don't own a trailer), no touch and preferably mostly drop and hook loads. What are some good...

Hello All:
I was on the phone with a DMV Agent from NJ MVC, and I had asked him about the CDL Testing Parking Maneuvers that I must safely perform. He had informed me that I must safely perform six (6) Parking maneuvers on the day of the test which will include Straight-Line Back, Offset Left & Right, Parallel Park Left & Right, and an Alley Dock (90 Degree).
