After what seems like a longer than average winter, spring has been a bit elusive. As the wind came last week to help the final snow piles disappear, this week the rain has shown up to nourish the earth. It finally smells like spring and it is really difficult to wait until the appropriate time to head to the local greenhouse. It is time to dig in the dirt and plant.

“Secure your financial future with us.” This was the bank slogan at a small bank we used when we were first married. Like many young couples, we were rather poor – or at least we thought we were. As time went on, we moved a few times, we had children, we added to our collection of ‘stuff’, we changed jobs . . . and there always seemed to be month left at the end of the money.
