Why is Guild wars 2 praised for it's alt friendliness?

I keep seeing this point brought up about the game, that it's incredibly alt friendly. And sure it does a lot well with account wide systems like the wardrobe, achievements. But there's two fundamental things it does not and really makes me question why people end up praising the game for it. The story progression is not account wide. After the 20 levels of the core game and arguably some choices around the 50 mark with the priory factions not having account wide progress is such a chore. You can replay any chapter you want anyway. It would be like FF14 having separate character for each clas ..read more

ESO/FFXIV/GW2 - Spent Time with all 3 - Some Thoughts

I’m a bit of an older gamer, life presented me with an opportunity to spend some time with all 3 recently so thought I’d share a few of my findings. Purely my opinion, not trying to tell anyone what to do or think. However, I found that I was often not aligning with the prevailing groupthink of this sub or reddit generally. FFXIV was the winner for me personally, a major factor in that decision is ping. I’m on about 5 for it and 200-220 for the other two. If ESO had a similar ping, it would be a tight race. This isn’t a which game is better post, just some observations which may be helpful. C ..read more

Best Solo PVE MMO

Which MMO, if evaluated as a single player game, do you think would have the best rating? I realize it's a perverse question given that they're games made to be played as multi-player, but I'm curious what MMO you think has the best single player gameplay loop. In other words if you had to play any MMO completely solo on a private server which game do you think would be the most fun (or the least terrible)? submitted by /u/jhvn [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSwKoOZqayQ If someone came up to me and ask to describe Dungeons and Dragons online in 2024. I would say go play it and find out for yourself. But, if you already know, then I wrote this for u. Also most of my voice actors are TTS so that is why title is the way it is and not FROZEN KORTHOS HARCORE LEAGUE SEASON 7 ! What's the strongest protagonist/player character from all MMOs lore-wise?

[SERIOUS] From all the MMOPRGs that you've played or know and are familiar with the lore, who's protag do you think could beat all the other ones in terms of power, lore-wise? I've seen a trend with the PCs becoming more and more powerful to the point that they're considered demigods in their respective universes by endgame, and that's what made me ask this question. submitted by /u/Environmental_Eye_ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Could AI revive dead MMORPG servers ?

I am playing in one almost dead WoW server and I was wondering something. I believe, we are all reading a lot about artificial intelligence(AI) those days. What if AI could be used not only for NPCs, but for replaysing a real human players as well ? Well, I suppose it will not be very entertaining to interact with AI in the beggining, and it will destroy some part of the fun. However, if it could fill the last spots in the raid or replace the tank in a dungeon on some empty server where you love to play, wouldn't it be beneficial ? I found this article on the topic: https://www.onlyaicontent ..read more
