Theoretical cocktails involving blood.

Im getting all my teeth yanked and getting dentures very soon. Apparently I will be losing a decent amount of blood. To help cope I’ve been trying to think of ridiculous cocktails pun based involving blood. My first idea: Save blood. Freeze into big cubes. Old fashioned + big blood cube. Call it the Donner Party. I promise I will never make any of em but coming up with the ideas makes me giggle. Cheers! submitted by /u/Mindless_Eggplant_60 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Ever had a customer who is borderline obsessive with your bar

Afternoon folks. Been working at the same craft beer tavern for almost 10 years now and I love it. Lately this guy, we’ll call him Tim, started coming in. A LOT. He’s very chatty. Walks up to other people’s tables and sits down and talks their ears off. Runs half my customers out of here. It’s becoming a real problem If he was a drunkard, it would be easy. But he’ll stay for 7 hours and have maybe a total of 3 beers. What’s a fella to do to get rid of this fuckin’ guy? He’s screwing with the business and my tips submitted by /u/HR_Payne [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I work at a brewery in Arizona and on weekends we have large events on our patio with a couple hundred guests. Generally on these days there are only 3-4 people working at the bar and inside the brewery, there is a constant line going from the bar to the door, so we’re constantly occupied with just pouring drinks, doing runs to quickly grab empty glasses and dishes, and trying to keep up with washing the dishes. We card people ordering at the register, but accept all ages being present at the brewery and we have no security or anything. Because nobody from the company is able to be present on ..read more

Industry Night Ideas

So, my restaurant is looking for ideas to increase late-night sales. I've been pushing for an industry night for years. The idea would be for it to start at 11:00 after our dinner crowd has cleared out. This is what I had in mind: We get a DJ -$5(CAD) Bar Rail -$5 Draught Pints -$5 Tacos -I'm contemplating suggesting a $15 Marg, it's a triple and it's considered one of the best margs in my city. I figure this will help get it some more exposure. Anyway, this is what I was thinking. Any thoughts? submitted by /u/snackeroniandcheese [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Good morning fellow bartenders. Our FOH manager and his fiance are getting married at the restaurant. I am close with the manager. He's fantastic. He and his soon to be wife asked me to create a shot to give out to guests as they arrive. Their theme is pink and blue. Ideally, i'd like a layered shot and I was hoping to avoid jello to make it layered because people digging out jello from a shot glass is not a good wedding look lol Any suggestions? submitted by /u/aroyxo [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

So we do have a GCFI outlet, not sure if it’s working or not though. the bartender and manager today told me it was a “freak accident” and because we don’t have rubber mats and the floor was wet it created a current for him to get shocked. They’re continuing to use the blender. I open the bar tomorrow… everyone is acting like it’s no big deal at work, but I don’t feel comfortable using the blender. Especially after all the comments. In regard to the bartender who was injured, he is ok. Any other questions about suing, and his medical treatment I don’t want to share. That’s his personal busine ..read more

Our bar has a few signature cocktails on the menu. Customer tried the 1st one I recommended, took 2 sips and said they didn't like it. I said no worries, I'll get you something else. They picked a 2nd drink for me to make. After a few mins. same thing, said they didn't like it and wanted to try something else. I made them wait and asked my manager if we should charge them for at least 1 of the drinks since they're just wasting alcohol at this point. Manager said no, just try and make them happy. Reluctantly, I went back and took their order for the 3rd time. At this point they said they liked ..read more
