This post is a little belated (of course, lol), but wanted to wish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day!  It felt like a normal day for me, no special foods, no Guinness, and I forgot to tell the girls to wear green as they were getting ready for school, but better luck to me next year!   Hope you're all having a wonderful March so far.  I know the world, as a whole, has been a stressful place to rest our thoughts in over these past few years, but hoping you are all finding comfort in your doll hobbies as I do in mine.  xoxo Farrah  ..read more

A Cozy Cocoa Stand with the Wellies

A few years ago, I purchased the Wellie Wisher's Hot Cocoa stand when it went on sale on American Girl's website.  It's a pretty cute little set with some nice miniatures and it was fun to get the girls dressed up to go outside and have a warm treat!  The set came with these two larger pieces; the stand and a bench.  It also came with mugs of cocoa, cookies, whipped cream and more as you can see below.  These items below came in a separate Wellie Wishers Christmas Eve "cookies and milk" set, but I added them to this set as I think they went so well together The y ..read more

Happy February!   Two Barbie lines I've been collecting over the past year are the Barbie Birthstone Collection Collectible dolls (released in 2002) and the Barbie Birthstone Beauties (released in 2007).    I did a post last year showing my January dolls, so this month, I wanted to showcase my February dolls.  The first one is the gorgeous Birthstone Collection - February Amethyst doll from 2002.  She is simply beautiful.  I chose the AA version because she was my favorite of the three choices and I think this purple shade lo ..read more

Happy Valentine's Day! Today I wanted to share my Valentine Barbie from 1997 that I recently purchased from eBay earlier this month.  This is the first Valentine themed Barbie I have in my collection!  She comes in a very simple slim line box without very many decorative elements.  On the back of the box are two cutout Valentines to keep in your collection or share with a friend. (They poems are pretty cut and dry, lol.)  Out of the box, she comes with the doll, a brush and a little heart-shaped box of chocolates. (No stand included.)  She's on the tw ..read more

Hi everyone!  Merry Christmas Eve!   In my final post in this Dolliday Series, we're taking a look at the Barbie that started the whole Happy Holiday line, Happy Holiday Barbie from 1988.   Here is my video review and I also ranked my top 20 favorite Holiday Barbies!  Unfortunately, they did not come out with an African American version of her, only the blonde Caucasian one.  Here's a beautiful promo photo of her in her gorgeous dress!  She had a red and silver theme with little holly berries to complete the look.  Her dress is made of red ..read more

Hi everyone!  It's hard for me to believe that there are only 2 more days until Christmas.  These season absolutely flew by for me!  Today's review is dedicated to the lovely Happy Holiday Barbie of 1989.  We've officially hit the 80s!  This year, unfortunately, they only released the Caucasian version of this doll.   Here's another stunning promo photo and the photo they used for the back of her box.  Look at that snow on the window panes! Here she is in her full snowy white glory.  She has a lovely full gown in a satin(ish) shimmery materia ..read more

Hi everyone, tonights post features the hot pink sensation that was Happy Holidays Barbie from 1990. She was the 3rd doll in this Happy Holiday line.  She's a fan favorite for sure and also marks the first year they introduced the African American version of the Happy Holiday Barbie as well!  Here's a look at the African American version and she has the Christie face mold.  Again, I just LOVE the little scenes they used to create for the promo photos!  Sorry for the blurry photo, but here's a look at her in her full dress! Her dress consists of layers of pink ruffle ..read more

In our last post today, we're looking at the 1991 forest green, velvet beauty Happy Holiday Barbie from 1991! Here's the African American version with the Christie face mold.  Her dress looks like it has sparkles on it!  So this one seems more elegant than a few of the previous ones we just did.  Her gown is simple, yet beautiful and the glittery bodice really shines in the light.  She has puffy shoulders and her bodice is decorated with silver, red and green sequins.  She has red and silver beaded earrings, a matching necklace, a silver ring, a m ..read more

We are down to the last five Barbies in our countdown to Christmas!  I honestly can't believe I have posted this much this month, lol.  It's really only because I had foot surgery and am off of work until after Christmas as I never would've been able to do this otherwise!  Today, we're looking at silver and crystal beauty, which is Happy Holiday Barbie 1992.  Here's the African American version with the Christie face mold posed in a beautiful photo.  This doll completely embodies the early 90s in my opinin.  Her dress and hair are huge, she has hologr ..read more

We've made it to 1993!  This year's Happy Holidays Barbie has a red and gold theme inspired by the Poinsettia plant.  Here's a look at the lovely African American version of this doll.  She has the Christie face mold and looks gorgeous in this photo of her descending this little staircase.  Here we have the Barbie version in her poofy, ruffly red tulle skirt.  Every other ruffle is trimmed in gold thread and she as two large bows adorning each shoulder.  The bodice is gold and decorated with red leaves in the shape of poinsettias.  Each shoulder ..read more
