Bank of Maldives beat Club WAMCO by 6-1 in the final of Club Maldives Cup to be crowned as the champions. Ali Haafiz scored a hat trick and Ibrahim Sinah scored a double and Ishan Ibrahim added another to make it impossible for Wamco to have any chance of coming back into the game. BML finished the tournament with a 100% winning run and conceding just four goals in 7 games. Ali Hafiz of Bank of Maldives was named Futsal King and man of the match. MPL beat Police Club 4-3 to retain the title of 18/30 Women’s Futsal Fiesta on Thursday with Fathimath Joozan the heroine of the game after she scored a hat trick. It was Police that took the lead through Fathimath Sheeneez but MPL took control of the game through goals from Joozan and Shaliya. Bank of Maldives and WAMCO secure their place in the final of ongoing Club Maldives Cup. BML beat Ooredoo in the semi final by 3-0 with all three goals scored by Ali Haafiz. WAMCO beat Immigration in an intense semi final by 5-4. Immigration missed two long range penalties and WAMCO missed one as well. The game was heading to a 4-4 draw before Aswadh scored the winner. The four semi finalists of this year’s Club Maldives Cup are now confirmed. BML best MPL by 5-1 to secure a semi final against Ooredoo, who shocked defending champions GMIZL with a 5-4 win. WAMCO had to secure their path to the semi after a penalty shootout win against four times champion STO. Immigration beat Prisons to reach final. The eight quarter finalists of ongoing Club Maldives Cup are now confirmed with quarter finals to be played on Sunday. In the round of 16 games, WAMCO beat STELCO by 1-0 while STO and Prison came out victorious after a tense shoot out against Customs and HDC respectively. United BML best AVSECOM by 7-0 and MPL bear DSC on penalties. Greater Male’ Industrial Zone Ltd beat Maldivian on penalties and Ooredoo beat Police by 2-1. STO survived an opening defeat in the ongoing Club Maldives Cup against rivals MPL. MPL took a one goal lead to the very last minute of the game but a deflected shot saw four times champions, STO, grab a point. Meanwhile, a star studded Immigration side had to settle with a point against AVSECOM. The game finished 3-3. In the other games played yesterday, Fehi Fahi club beat Club MYS by 3-2. Bank of Maldives Ltd (BML) and defending champions Greater Male’ Industrial Zone Ltd (GMIZL) win their opening games in the ongoing Club Maldives Cup. BML beat HDC by 3-2 with three goals came from Ishan Ibrahim while GMIZL won their game against STELCO by 2-1. The winner came in the last minute of the game. The biggest futsal tournament of Maldives, Club Maldives Cup, has officially kicked off last night in a colorful ceremony held at Hulhumale’ Futsal Ground.  As part of the opening, an exhibition match was played between Veteran footballers of Maldives and a selected team from high profile government officials including Vice President Faisal Naseem and Tourism minister Ali Waheed.  The veterans won the game by 7-5.  In the opening ceremony all participating teams also displayed their match kits.
