You can now set up margins for node groups easily. Previously, you could edit text margins on individual nodes, and with this new feature you can do it easily for the whole map, or for individual levels. This allows you to customize styling and make certain levels visually different from others. To modify the margins for a group of nodes, first open the theme style editor. Click the “view” application menu, then select the “customise theme” option. Next, open the “Text” section in the sidebar. If some other section is open, you can click the section title to collapse it first, so you can find ..read more

We’ve enabled PayPal as a subscription method again, so customers without cards or those that prefer to pay using PayPal can resume MindMup Gold subscriptions. PayPal payments were disabled a while ago due to slow payment notifications, causing some customers to pay more than once. MindMup is now using a different way to process PayPal payments, and the notifications are almost instantaneous, so we have enabled this payment method again. It will show up automatically on the payment screen when setting up a new subscription ..read more

Make nodes wider or narrower quickly
MindMup 2
by

When a node has lots of text inside, MindMup will automatically wrap the text to create nodes of relatively same width. For maps that have lots of long text in nodes, this usually creates relatively narrow but tall nodes, which is good for smaller screens. If you work on a wide monitor or have lots of screen space horizontally, you may want to restructure the nodes to allow more words per line. Until today, you had to drag and drop each individual node to increase the word wrapping limit. A new theme configuration feature allows configuring this limit quickly for the entire map, or for individ ..read more

You can now reset the look and feel of your maps back to the standard settings with a single click. Personalising maps with custom colours, fonts and line styles can help to visualize important aspects of the concepts explained by a mind map, but if you overdo it, it was difficult to remove styles. With the new menu item, you can easily restore a map to its default visual state. To use this new function, click on the “View” application menu, then “Remove all styling”. The map will go back to the standard look and feel for that theme, and you can then optionally re-style it as you wish ..read more

Optimize performance for large maps

With very large maps (thousands of nodes) processing visual changes sometimes takes a while on less powerful computers. You can now quickly collapse (hide) all nodes to make large maps quicker to work with. This allows you to hide everything below root nodes, and then gradually open the levels and work with fewer nodes at a time. To use this new function, click on the “View” application menu, then “Collapse all nodes”. You can then gradually open up individual nodes or map levels using the other functions in the same submenu, such as “Expand/Collapse subtree” or “Expand one level ..read more
