Recommended LPC as second career?

I've been a physical therapist (Texas) for the past 10 years and I want out. The profession is going down in flames with insurance companies offering less and less reimbursement. This results in pay decreases, unreal productivity standards and just poor quality of care for patients. Personally, I'm also burntout of the career in general. I don't like doing the same exercises with people every day. It's tedious and feels like I'm not doing anything. I like to see progress, but not everyone will progress based on their diagnosis, wether they do their exercises etc. I am interested in changing c ..read more

Good morning everyone, I wish to say that I’m currently 22 years old practicing Sunni Muslim in High School, and I wish to fix the great corruption which happens in Muslim world, because I don’t like people associating and linking evil with Islam. It’s very offensive. But I’m not a Muslim politician neither Muslim ruler for me to make the change. I wish to permanently ban child marriage, honor killings and other things from Muslim world. But I don’t have any power for me to do this. submitted by /u/SnooWoofers7603 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I’ll spare the details because time is sensitive, but at my next appointment which starts in an hour, we might get into some things that I’m really uncomfortable with. I don’t want to stay silent because I figure it might be good for me, but these are things I’m really scared to vocalize and that I’m really embarrassed/ashamed by. Any advice or encouragement about approaching and talking about such stressful issues would be really appreciated. submitted by /u/Comrade-Thanos [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I'm working with an organization to set up a space for Peer Support, and I've of the options people want us the ability to discuss their issues without revealing their identity. Is there a secure app or website that I can use to do this? I've been searching, but I'm only really coming across platforms that are designed for hookups. Any help is appreciated. submitted by /u/MisterBoone [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Can a counsellor in the USA (OK to be specific) have online clients in Canada?

Hi, kind of a specific issue but I'm asking on behalf of my partner. She is an LPC in Oklahoma, and we are looking at moving to Canada. She is wanting to know whether it is allowed for her to start advertising and taking on Canadian clients ahead of moving, or whether she has to wait until we move? From what we can tell it should be ok on the Canada side (in that she doesn't have to relicense to practice there or anything), but we are struggling to find out if there is an issue on the OK/USA side, or if there are other issues we aren't aware of? Any pointers for where to look would be greatly ..read more

Hey all, is anyone here a registered counsellor or therapist in Ireland, who has done their counselling education and training in British Columbia, Canada? If so, I’m wondering if anyone could tell me how the qualification and license transfers from Canada to Ireland. Is additional examination or college required? Thanks! submitted by /u/lop1239 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
