Proverbs 2:1-6

I'm still pondering this morning these precious verses found here in (Proverbs 2:1-6) dealing with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. We left off yesterday with the question "How do we know when we are truly grabbing hold of wisdom or when we've gotten a grip on knowledge?" Solomon says if we receive the Word and hide it in our hearts in (Verse 1), if we hear the Word and apply it to our minds in (Verse 2), and if we dig and search for it in (Verse 4), then we'll understand the fear of the Lord and find knowledge in (Verse 5). You see, the proof is in the fear of the Lord not wanting ..read more

Proverbs 2:1-6

I have been pondering this morning here in (Proverbs 2:1-6) where Solomon wrote of crying out for wisdom and for understanding. Jesus said it is when we hunger and thirst after righteousness that we shall be filled in (Matthew 5:6). It is when we cry out for understanding that it will be found. To know God and to understand Him requires a certain amount of effort and work on our part. Solomon likens the process to a miner searching for gold, silver, and precious stones. If you dig in and get serious about your pursuit of wisdom, then wisdom will be yours. But it doesn't come easy. There's a pr ..read more

Hebrews 10:25

O the importance of going to church is so important in our lives as God's children. We live in a day where people put everything else as a priority above going to God's house to give Him worship and praise. The Bible says in (Hebrews 10:25) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Have you ever questioned the necessity of being in fellowship with other believers? Perhaps someone in church hurt you or you didn't feel as though you fit in. Whatever the reason or excuse, you are ..read more

Acts 16

Did you know saints that there is so much power in that word Praise. Giving thanks to God is one of the most powerful things we can do as a believer. The Lord works mightily through the praises of His children. This is because when we tell the Lord how much we love and appreciate Him, we acknowledge we're dependent upon His provision and strength. And that's exactly the attitude that is necessary for Him to exhibit His power through us. If you remember Paul and Silas were in prison in a Philippian jail in (Acts 16). They had been beaten unjustly but they decided they were going to Praise the L ..read more

(2 Corinthians 1:8-9

I've been pondering these verses found in (2 Corinthians 1:8-9) which says, "For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life. But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead." Paul says we were under so much pressure that it felt far beyond our ability to endure. There are circumstances that will come along that require more than we as God's children are humanly able to give. No matter how h ..read more

Hebrews 10:35-36

It is so easy in this world that we live in with so much stress, problems, difficulties, and one battle after the next it seems to just want to give up. The Bible tells us in (Hebrews 10:35-36) "Cast not away therefore, your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise." Oh, how we can't give up as God's children. The enemy would have us to give in to hopelessness or to imagine there is nothing left for you. Your situation may be frustrating because you cannot see any relief for the pai ..read more

Psalm 23:4

This morning I got up at 4 and couldn't sleep and began meditating on (Psalm 23:4) which says, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil." It's amazing to me that our Good Shepherd walks with us right through the valley of the shadow of death. Jesus is there with us through real hardship. He's with us when a loved one gets sick. He's close when our hearts are broken and shattered. He's close when we lose some sort of good thing we'd hoped for. You see, saints we can experience any number of losses in the valley of the shadow of death. Loss is a part o ..read more

The first part of the verse found in (Amos 5:6) has spoken to my heart. The Bible says, "Seek the Lord, and ye shall live." Do you desire today a release from the stress of life you may be experiencing? Do you wish something could quiet your fears or give you a fresh perspective on your struggles you may be going through? If so, meditating on the Word of God can and will revolutionize your life and mine. O how our Heavenly Father wants us to relate to Him-to be quiet before Him so that He can speak to us and teach us His ways. Unfortunately, we will miss His activity, His direction, and His ..read more

Isaiah 64:4

This morning my heart has been fixed on (Isaiah 64:4) which says, "For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside Thee, what He hath prepared for him that waiteth for Him." One of the most difficult things to do at times is to wait and the aspect of waiting is battling the thoughts that arise. The imagination can create terrible scenarios of disaster and defeat. Your mind can also conceive of every reason for why God shouldn't bless you. This is why (Psalm 37:4) instructs us to "Delight thyself also in the Lord; an ..read more

Lamentations 3:22-23

Just think Saints we have been ushered into another new day this morning, untouched and freshly new. The Bible tells us in (Lamentations 3:22-23) "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness." No wonder David said in (Psalm 5:3) "My voice shalt Thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee and will look up." So here I am to ask you Lord, if You'll renew me too in this brand-new day? Forgive me of the many faults and failures that I made yesterday, and let me ..read more
