Lent is a preparation for baptism and preparation for the feast of the Resurrection of Christ. It is the living symbol of man's entire life which is to be fulfilled in his own resurrection from the dead with Christ. It is a time of renewed devotion: of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. It is a time of repentance, a real renewal of minds, hearts and deeds in conformity with Christ and his teachings. Lent begins Sunday evening, February 26! Our calendar is very full during Great Lent. The structure of services are designed to guide us in the way of repentance, beginning with the rite of Forgiveness, to the joy of Pascha. All members of the community are strongly encouraged to join us Sunday for this important and beautiful service that helps us enter the season of repentance together. Visitors are welcome, too, as always.
