In some ways it's easier since I need to basically avoid most grains per the holiday rules...
But I like to eat matzah to get into the holiday spirit and each sheet in 25 grams of carbs!

I'm trying out the low carb high protein lifestyle with 16:8 intermittent fasting. Not only because I have crohns disease but also because I am obese and my latest labs showed some high cholesterol and insulin resistance. I can't eat too much fiber because my crohns and I also struggle to get a ton a protein in too so I thought these percentages seemed alright as a starting point.
Some examples of things I've been eating this week are salmon and zucchini, eggs ham and cheese on a skinny bagel, trail mix, chicken and grilled veggies over lettuce, steak, veggie platter snacking when my Croh ..read more

Hi all, currently new to forum. I just joined a few moments ago. I’m currently 5’ 7” and weigh 228 lbs. I’d like to get to 157 lbs.; does anyone have experience with a similar goal. I have to lose 71 lbs. as per my CPAP doctor. Any guidance/feedback is greatly appreciated.

This week I have been experimenting with my macros to find what works for me eating wise so I can manage better without feeling panic when I go over or under. Taken at least 3 attempts and today without trying I have been pretty much bang on and enjoyed every meal. Has anyone else done this?

TLDR: Does everyone see huge mood improvements not eating carbs or is there something about my body where cutting carbs makes such a huge difference?
Hello! I wanted to share some thoughts and get opinions on mood improvement from low carb/keto. In the past I've done keto a couple times with amazing results, felt great, mood was greatly improved, but always stopped after a few months due to keto diet sustainability. I was recently diagnosed with a hormonal/gynecological trifecta (PCOS, endo, fibroids) that explain some of the weight and other struggles I've had in the past despite eating heal ..read more

Yes, I do realize that this weight loss is probably mostly water weight ?
BACKSTORY:
I am obese and a big foodie especially for sweet things. Food is my comfort, and receiving the news was very hard for me, so I kinda went through a grief process.
The 1st week after diagnosis I was sad, angry, and ate all the things I shouldn't, pizza, cake, chocolate, bread, all kinds of pastries, drinks, pasta etc. I was kinda saying ..read more

I roasted some frozen broccoli in the air fryer, first covering it in olive oil. I did it for about 15 min on 400 and then an extra 5 minutes on 370 just to soften it some more. After it was done I added some lemon juice, S&P, and butter. It's AMAZING
