[rant] VA login website and password stuff is so frustrating

Firstly, I don't understand why we have to update the login password every 60 days. When I worked at certain places with more sensitive information, it wasn't this complicated. And the fact that every single new password requires at least 8 different characters with no resemblance to any previous password is the epitome of ridiculous. Are VA websites really getting blasted with security threats that often? I mean, hell, I guess the DOD did get hacked some years ago and all my personal info was put out there, but man this stuff is so frustrating. I cannot remember this many passwords, and I su ..read more

Hey everybody need some help with this one. Not that I'm complaining but for purposes that I served and Id a conversation came up about my rank then it's appropriate I have it fixed. Anyways, just got my card today. Brought everything needed for documentation. I was on active duty and also in the reserves. At the time of my dd214 separation from active duty it showed E3 rank by the time I was done in the military all together I was an E5. I needed my dd214 for proof of service. But my rank was E5. Since my dd214 showed I was an E3 that's what they put down for rank. Anyway to fix this? W ..read more

Maybe I’m overcomplicating things, recently medically retired out of the Navy as an E6 at 9 years. No degree, no cool computer certs, etc. What paygrade I’m an applying for? WG roles? GS-1? GS-5? All the postings seem to ask for 12mo at previous role. Just looking for guidance or if there’s a FAQ or another thread I can be directed to? submitted by /u/Thetrendysadist [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey everyone, Does anyone know if, the person determining your decision would actually dig into the unit you were attached with and where you were stationed at during the time of war ( iraq 03) . I'm claiming a condition with a certain event that took place but not sure if they really believe me. I have sent in articles I have found online about certain studies that were done on soldiers from that time from those infantry units that were involved . The people I have told at the va here kinda brush over it... like they have never heard of this situation. I'm just curious what these people have ..read more

Ex Finance still planning on leaving me Last week I posted that my finance left me. Well it’s been days and we’ve had much needed talks, and yes we did act as if we were together still but yesterday she was telling me how down she felt that it’s been a week that she ended things. We had a back and forth about it again but not as intense as last week. It is clear she is not changing her mind right now. I don’t have to money to just up and leave but I want to really bad. If I did I would and I told her this. However she wants to keep hugging me and kissing me, (sex sometimes included), hanging ..read more
