Hopefully, the tag isn't confusing to what I'm asking. I have to be discreet when practicing and was looking for ideas and advice how to keep a small altar to put away. It's bad enough I have neighbors that think I'm satanic and have spread rumors that I am because of the items i put outside. Witches bells and sigils. I have troublesome neighbors and want to start doing freezer spells but want a small area to charge my spell. I miss having an altar but my partner and his family is very superstitious of me. Even a buddha statue scares some of them. It sucks that I can't practice without someon ..read more

Hi there, ive finally become comfortable being a witch and love the communities ive found here and online. Im curious what advice you have for new witches? Just anything. I want to get into spellwork, pretty good at divination i think thats my strongsuit, and im definitely very psychic sometimes. It seems like there is so much to learn about wicca/witchcraft/deities. What helped you in the beginning or what advice do you wish you had? Kudos for book reccomendations!! Thank you! submitted by /u/metallikae [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Can there be too many elements to a working?

I've never done one that is this involved but I think it's necessary here. I'm building a pretty intense spell and I want to do a cord cutting ritual first, then add the leftovers from that to a jar with a poppet and multiple different dried plants, and a couple other magical items. How do you handle multiple elements in a spell/working and ensure that they all hold potency? submitted by /u/meatknife [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My lucifer devotional necklace just broke. what should i do?

i always wear a lucifer sigil necklace, made of a very resistant metal. today it just broke, it suddenly broke in half. it did not fall to the ground, hit somewhere or anything. i was standing there, with it around my neck, when part of it just came loose and fell off. i was very confused. i was in the middle of a school meeting, with several people gathered in the room. what could it have been? should i fix the necklace? it was a little expensive, i do not know if i can afford to buy another one submitted by /u/tanatomania [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Question about hex jar

Hi witch friends! I need some advice. I’m currently in the process of hexing my abusive ex. I was in the process of adding all the yucky things to the jar (and having so much fun in the process) and when I was done with my ingredients, was waiting for the next full moon to add the photos…except now I can’t get the lid off. Not sure if that’s a sign on its own…but I’m ready to get this thing done. I was going to just secure the photos to the lid with a rubber band before melting wax over it to seal it. Do we think that should be fine? Also, I can’t really bury it. I was just going to put it in ..read more

I’m terribly confused on how to work with Hindu deities

I was born in Hindu family and am a practising Hindu myself. But I’m not sure how to do “deity work” with Hindu Gods/Goddess. My main intention is to connect with them and talk. I worship and pray to Krishna, Shiva and Ganesha, as I feel a “calling” to these Gods (especially Krishna) But I’m not sure how can I achieve this. I’m not able to find any good resources on these gods (or any other Hindu gods). All I see are the usual prayers and worships but I feel there is something missing, as I had been doing this for long time and no results. Honestly, a lot of other Hindus (including my parents ..read more

So I live at home and I have a altar with a few statues and a few books hidden in my wardrobe. Family didn't really notice anything too much but recently asked about my altar. I've taken steps to make my altar more hidden but is there any tips and tricks people use to hide their practice? submitted by /u/reganicus1998 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
