Jurrien Timber scored a superb goal on his long-awaited return to action as he played 45 minutes for Arsenal U21s in a 2-2 draw away to their Blackburn Rovers counterparts at Ewood Park tonight.
Timber, who has been out of action since August due to injury, gave a very good account of himself operating as an inverted left-back and opened the scoring with an excellent effort in the eighth minute.

Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber is set to step up his recovery from injury by starting for the club’s U21 side away to Blackburn Rovers tonight.
It is the first time Timber has been in action since he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury on his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest in August.
The versatile 22-year-old, who joined Arsenal from Ajax last summer, is now looking to gain match sharpness following his return to training.

Michal Rosiak was involved in training with the Arsenal first-team squad today as they prepared for tomorrow night’s Premier League game at home to Chelsea.
Rosiak has been one of the most consistent performers for Arsenal U18s this season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in the league at that level.
In addition, he has also featured for the U21s and in the UEFA Youth League.

Albert Sambi Lokonga made his first appearance in almost two months as he returned from injury to play 71 minutes in Luton Town’s 5-1 defeat to Brentford.

Arsenal U18s staged an impressive comeback to beat Aston Villa 4-2 at home today and extend their winning run to three games.
Schoolboy Chido Obi-Martin got on the scoresheet once again with a late goal and he has now scored 21 times for the U18s this season. Obi-Martin has now broken Rhys Murphy’s record, set in the 2006/07 season, for the most league goals scored by a schoolboy for Arsenal U18s in a single campaign.

Academy midfielders Ethan Nwaneri and Dan Casey trained with the Arsenal first-team squad today as Mikel Arteta’s side prepared for tomorrow’s Premier League game away to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Following on from the first-team’s defeat on Sunday, Arsenal U21s also suffered misery at the hands of Aston Villa as they were beaten 5-3 at Meadow Park tonight.

Schoolboy goalkeeper Khari Ranson has received his first callup to the Arsenal U21 squad for tonight’s game at home to Aston Villa.
Brian Okonkwo, who was recently on loan at Cheshunt, has also been named in the U21 squad for the first time.
Josh Nichols is also back from injury, with Reuell Walters, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly also named in the squad.
U18 wingers Ismeal Kabia and Osman Kamara are also in the squad. However, Taylor Foran and Elian Quesada-Thorn aren’t involved.

Much of the focus regarding Arsenal U18s of late has, understandably, been on the free-scoring Chido Obi-Martin.
However, there are plenty of other Arsenal players at that level that deserve recognition, including wingers Louis Zecevic-John and Osman Kamara.
Zecevic-John, a highly regarded schoolboy who is usually deployed on the right wing, is starting to establish himself in the U18 team and has caught the eye with his pace, flair and directness.
