AP “All black like a funeral. Get used to it.” The best uniform release reactions from Detroit Lions players. Social media was abuzz on Thursday night, as the world reacted to the Detroit Lions’ 2024 uniform reveal. The event at Ford Field was well-produced, and the general reaction was that the uniforms delivered. Check out the reactions from Lions players on social media from Thursday night. Aidan ..read more

AP Dan Campbell asked Rod Wood to bring the Detroit Lions’ black uniforms. Wood agreed, but Campbell had to do something first... Thursday night, the Detroit Lions unveiled their new uniforms to a rowdy set of over 5,000 fans at Ford Field. The event featured the highly-anticipated return of a black uniform option, which the Lions abandoned back in 2017. It turns out the return of the black uniforms sprouted from a conversation three years ago, with coach Dan Campbell just months on the job. Team president Rod Wood explained. “He wore the black (jerseys) when he was here (as a player),” Wood s ..read more

AP The Lions uniforms are hot off the presses and Ryan Mathews weighs in on their new threads. The new uniforms for the Detroit Lions leaked before lunch on Thursday, April 18, just hours before they were due to be unveiled to special guests and media at Ford Field. After spending some time looking over two-dimensional images of the uniforms for the past hour or so, it’s time to decide if these new threads for the Lions are either hot or not. Lions home jersey If OutKast’s hit single ‘So Fresh, So Clean’ was a jersey, it would be these new blues. Much like that song, the Lions are harkening ba ..read more

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports Here’s how the Detroit Lions and a few players reacted to the new jerseys leaking early. If you missed it, a now-deleted promotional post at Lions Wire appears to have leaked the new Detroit Lions jerseys ahead of their launch on Thursday night. Obviously, this appears to have been an accidental leak, but at this point, the toothpaste can’t be put back into the tube, and they’re out there. And while I’m sure the Lions would have preferred to keep these a secret until the release Thursday night—in front of a bunch of season-ticket holders—they were clearly prepared fo ..read more

The Detroit Lions new uniforms appear to have leaked through a promotional post. While the Detroit Lions are set to reveal their new uniforms on Thursday night in an event at Ford Field, it appears the jersey has leaked well before the launch. In a Fanatics promotional post at USA TODAY blog Lions Wire, they revealed several photos of what appears to be the new Lions jerseys. The set includes a classic blue jersey with the block letters that the team hinted at early in the week, a white uniform that doesn’t look too much different than their current set, and, most notably, a black uniform wit ..read more

Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK Lions’ linebacker Alex Anzalone explains why leaving a legacy in Detroit was a big reason he hasn’t left. Back when he got here in 2021, there was a good understanding of what Detroit Lions’ linebacker Alex Anzalone’s role would be with the team—at least early on. Lions’ general manager Brad Holmes and coach Dan Campbell had just begun with their rebuild, and adding Anzalone made a lot of sense for several reasons. Anzalone, who was just 27 years old at that point in time, was expected to be a leader for a Lions team that was going to take its lumps over the next ..read more

Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK The Detroit Lions have adopted a new motto for the 2024 season to ensure they don’t take a step back. Ever since the minutes following their devastating loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell has been preaching that the team’s climb back to a Super Bowl run will only get harder from here. His postgame quote about how the Lions may never be back—albeit somewhat misinterpreted—was a strong statement to the team that they can’t grow complacent now. That message is clearly continuing throughout the entire offseas ..read more
