I'm going to be trying some downhill parks for the first time this summer and I'm looking into some chest/back protection. They have lifts, so I'm not worried about pedalling in them much. I'm currently considering the Fox Racing Baseframe Pro sleeveless chest guard, Dainese Trail Skins Air Vest, and the Fox Racing Baseframe Pro D30 vest guard which is more protection and has the zipper for easier on/off. I ride a 2010 specialized demo 8i, and I’ve started to get competitive racing at trestle bike park. I feel like I’ve reached the limit of the fork that came on the bike, and I want to find a new one. My two hold ups right now are the fact that it’s a 26, and that I don’t have a lot of money to spare. I’m trying to work off the second issue, but I’m only 14 so that’s hard. I’ve looked at an older fox 40, but I’ve only ridden my coil boxxer and newer stuff, so I’m not sure what to look for. Thank you in advance!

I posted this over on r/MTB but here may have been the better choice. I will be going to my first uplift parks this summer as well as a park with long downhills you have to pedal up. I will be getting a full face helmet but I'm trying to figure out if an Enduro DH rated or full DH helmet would be best for me. Price does matter, so getting almost a 1K worth of helmets is not an option. I can do 1 very expensive or 2 reasonable priced for light and heavy. I would prefer 1 to do it all if that is even possible. I've narrowed it down to these helmets and would like some advice/personal experience ..read more

With the current state of mtbs, is an enduro bike pretty much a dh bike. Just slap a dual crown and some smaller wheels and you pretty much got the same thing right?
