I’m about to graduate college where I ride every day. I ride bmx to class, if I have an extra half hour I’ll cruise and street session, and then ride trail whenever I have a couple hours, all day on the weekends. But where I’m moving to south Louisiana, Lafayette area. I’ll drive at least an hour for any trail worth riding, and a bmx park 20 minutes from me. Idk I guess I’m scared of the change. We just got new trails up here where I go to college and I feel like I’m more passionate about mtb than I ever have before and all of a sudden I’m being separated from it and it’s kind of scary

What can I do to help with this, other than speed? (It's really hard to go any faster than this)

Decided to try out this freeride line the locals showed me here at Theodore Wirth park in MN. Honestly don’t recommend unless you have a DH bike??

Just got my bike worked on for routine maintenance at a local shop that came with my bike when I purchased it. My bike is in good working order but I said what the hell it could use a free tune up. Got a tune up done.
1st ride I went on I got a flat in 5 minutes, they forgot to put sealant in. I said what the hell mistakes happened and just fixed it myself .
Go on my second ride. Make it to the top of a nice 2k decent and within 2 minutes my fork is seized up and I end up walking back to the car.
Both of these things the shop worked on. Normally I’d say this is my fault but like wtf.

Hello, I’m looking to get into mountain biking and I’m looking at getting a Giant Talon 2 and I actually found a 2021 Talon 2 on Facebook marketplace for $300 but I’m wondering if that’s a good price for that bike ? Any suggestions on other options or maybe another bike I can look out for ?

Hey team,
Planning ahead before I pull the trigger on a new bike down here in Australia (for when part of the NX groupset breaks down the line or I get sick of the shifting performance after a while).
Currently its got full NX drivetrain with DUB bottom bracket.
Read a heap of posts...are these the basic options without going full GX+ drivetrain and driver upgrades....
1) quick/easy: Just GX shifter and GX deraileur - will work no worries, GX cassette would need a different driver (XD driver) from the shimano HG driver the bike's got so just do shifter and deraileur for cheap/good enough upgr ..read more

Hi, so ive only ever owned cheap big box store bikes. I decided to throw down $800 and get the Marlin 5. But after riding for a day, the 2x8 gears were giving me the same issues that cheaper bikes did with the chain crossing. So i exchanged it for a $1300 Marlin 8. I couldnt be more blown away with this bike. It feels significantally more faster and i am wonderibg why this is. A few pedal strokes and it just rolls on flat ground for so long.
Is it the tubeless tires, the 1x12 drive train, the air shocks? Or all of these things??
