I wish to Learn about dividends i watched a few videos on youtube to learn like this one on dividend investing could someone tell me what to look for while choosing stocks for dividends? I'm reaching out because I'm relatively new to the world of investing and I've recently become intrigued by the concept of dividend stocks. While I've watched a few introductory videos on YouTube to get started, I still feel like I could benefit from some additional guidance. My ultimate goal is to construct a portfolio that consistently generates a steady income of $1000 per month through dividends. However ..read more

Cost basis at 25.90, Div tomorrow will be 500+, total gain loss on the move at this moment is +521 if you count the loss from the Price. Is it normal to come in, get a good div and then drop it like it's hot if the overall gain/loss on the instrument isn't bad? Thanks submitted by /u/Blazah [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

A few days ago I read an analysis about SAMG in Seeking Alpha. This was the trigger to do my own DD on SAMG, and it seems like a good addition to my portfolio. Is there anyone who follows it? The SA analysis is titled "Silvercrest: Dividend, Fortress Balance Sheet, Low Valuation, Positive Outlook". I recommend to spend a few minutes and read it. submitted by /u/8000000MadeinMarket [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello to everyone , I hope everyone is doing fine :) I've been investing for some time now but now I reached to that point of dividend investment. I'm fairly young (35) and can afford a good chunk of my salary to it (300-400 euros per month although I can go above that if necessary) . My long term plan is to reach a point were I can have a decent passive income from it which could be funnel into other projects down the line (example purchasing assets) My main interest in European stocks and my decision for that is to avoid exchange rates on dividends. I've done my research and feel fairly con ..read more

I am looking at Nestle, currently it seems to be attractive to me, but I don't know which Nestle stock I should buy, any advice? My account is in the US / Interactive Brokers should I get the ADR? Or directly buy from Swiss exchange? what will that do to the dividends I receive / which taxes I have to pay / do I need to apply to the Swiss state myself to get back part of the WHT, etc.? submitted by /u/ThommyCo [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

10 year plan for RMDs

Inherited a mid-six-figure sum and due to the nature of the inheritance it’s stashed away in a tax advantaged account that requires me to deplete it by 2034. This sub as well as others typically give advice to put capital into stocks/growth if you don’t need it in the next 5 years. Has anyone discussed what to do for a 10 year plan? Not sure if dividends that will preserve capital and pay a little extra are the right call here. Or just throw it into the s&p while I sell 1/10th of it each year. I’m sure this is not a unique situation, does anyone have experience with this? If so, what did ..read more

I am a Fidelity customer and am going to open a Roth IRA with them. I already have FZROX in a Rollover IRA and am contemplating investing in dividend paying growth funds in the Roth. I keep hearing that SCHD is one of the best but why not FEQTX instead? I’m a noob trying to learn. Thank you in advance. submitted by /u/Scorpion_Danny [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
