Dear fellow investors, June was the official start of real summer. It was finally regularly warm enough to get all the warm weather stuff I get to use for 2-3 months of the year. Highlights of the month included: the Toronto Raptors’ first ever NBA title, something I still have a hard time believing given how many times they had to fight from behind; a trip to France that flew by very fast; and finally getting to use my new patio set. I sincerely appreciate the readers that stuck with me over the past few months despite a total lack of new content. Things will get better in terms of posting m ..read more

Dear fellow investors, May was an amazing month. The Toronto Raptors secured a win in their first ever appearance in the NBA finals. Spicy P played a big role in that victory nailing 11 straight shots! Thank you for your patience with these delayed monthly posts. After the next post I’ll be caught up, stay tuned! May was a pretty standard month for the Niche Fund with an income of $20.85. The fund has really started to accelerate its growth. While $20 doesn’t sound like much, it would have been the second highest income amount in 2016, the first full year of the fund. Now, it is just a regula ..read more

Dear fellow investors, April is my favourite month. The snow really disappears and you can spend a lot more time outside. I went on a few trips and enjoyed every day to the fullest. As many of you know, I’m still catching up on some posts from previous months. With that disclaimer out of the way, here is how April shaped up! April was an excellent month for the Niche Fund. With a yoy growth of 32%, it set a new growth record for 2019. The income amount placed it third overall for 2019, with $28.17 in dividend income. ETFs and the mutual fund accounted for $9.17 of the total. Like clockwork, m ..read more

Dear fellow investors,March always feels like a turning point in Canada, it is the beginning of the end of winter, fool’s spring and second winter… St. Patrick’s Day was no exception, it dipped down to -7C. It was nice to see so many people out for the parade on a cold day.SNL had a great skit, which is how I finally learned how to spell Saoirse’s name. Pronounced: Ser-Sha, rhymes with inertia, not Cerci. I never would have gotten that right.March was a solid month for the Niche Fund with an income of $31.48, a new high for 2019. This represents a 28% yoy increase over March 2018. ETFs and the ..read more

Dear fellow investors,If you’ve been following my journey for awhile, thank you for your continued interest and patience. I’m sure several of my readers have been wondering what is taking me so long to post my monthly updates. I’m still here, it is just taking me way too long to get caught up on posts. Hopefully this will change over the next few days. In the meantime, the dividend income page has just been updated for each month until June.February 2019 was a slow month for the portfolio. This is not unexpected, it is my slowest month each year, and the only month yet to hit double digit inco ..read more

Dividend Income Update January 2019

Dear fellow investors, If you recall my December post, you’ll know that I’m still going to keep posting my monthly dividend income results. I thought I would have caught up by now, but it looks like things will continue to be quite behind for the time being. I swear I’m hoping to catch up soon! January 2019 was the best start to the year I could ask for in terms of the portfolio. I set a new record thanks to some healthy dividends from my ETF holdings. This makes sense, as most of the capital I’m contributing is towards building up my ETF holdings. If I could go back in time, I would have sta ..read more
