The Miracle Continues...

Back in 1984, my Vicar and House Group believed that God was calling me to give up the secure school teaching job and go into the unknown, a Christian music ministry. We had no idea of how it was going to work out, what it was going to be like, and how the finance would be found to support ourselves and four children! The miracle has been that in all that time the CMM Trust (formally EBRG Trust) has never failed in supplying the monthly grant, extended to support Annie who joined the team in 1994, and then Helen who joined us in 2005. We have also been able to employ administrative sta ..read more

Dear friends When Jesus said to Peter that "I will build my church and the gates of hell will not stand against it,” (Matthew 16:18) he was thinking of much worse opposition than a pandemic and a much greater building force than just our own feeble efforts. I want to tell you that he is still building his church and it is a privilege, albeit in a small way, that he involves us all, including CMM and our many friends. We have many exciting things to tell you about, so please forgive a list: 20 May - Our Annual Supporters' Evening 8:00 to 9:00 PM. Normally we can accommodate just over 40 peo ..read more

Dear friends As you may know, Helen, after many exciting years with us, is to leave in August in order to pursue a fresh ministry call alongside Amy, my PA, who leaves to take maternity leave at the end of May. We thank God for their many years of commitment, friendship and support, and wish them his deepest blessing and provision for the future. Helen writes: "At the end of August I will have spent 16 very blessed years at CMM. I am humbled by the incredible provision of God through you all that has enabled me to continue working in this wonderful team for so long - it began with a gap yea ..read more

Dear friends As we approach the end of Lent and anticipate Easter, it occurs to me that this is a fair reflection of our journey through lockdown and ultimately out into a “new” kind of freedom. Recently the Lord has been showing us that it is important to find his power and presence during Lent as well as during Lockdown.  We have had our attention drawn to the story of Daniel, who experienced his own lockdown in Babylon yet knew the protection and provision of God in the most difficult circumstances.  So whether we are in Lent or Lockdown, the Lord is here and his Spirit is with us ..read more

Hi folks As we go through our second Lent lockdown, we’re aware of the many restrictions, which have such great effect on our lives. But the wonderful truth is that Lent always brings us to Easter, and in a real sense it’s always Easter, it's always Christmas, it's always Pentecost. The seasons are a helpful discipline, but we rejoice in the reality that “Christ is risen - he is risen indeed!” and “The Lord is here, his Spirit is with us”. These statements are true every moment of every day! Our special Lent and Easter projects are coming on apace! AVAILABLE NOW: Ideal for Mothering Sunday ..read more

Hi Folks, For now the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come … Song of Songs 2:11-12 It really is a joy to feel the sun warm on our faces, and to see signs of life and hope springing up everywhere. Here at CMM we are excited at the prospect of finally getting out on the road again and seeing some of you face to face. See further down this mailing for more information about our music weeks which seem might well be able to go ahead this year. For the time being, however, we wait. And we are conscious that it is very likely we w ..read more

Dear friends, On the last mailing we mentioned that Roger was getting all creative again, and this time his focus was some Passiontide and Easter material. We also mentioned that there would be an opportunity to take part – well here’s the details! We are going to be producing a virtual choir and orchestra video once again, so we need singers and players. You’ll need to be able to listen to the guide track through headphones and record a video of yourself playing or singing. As we are going to be performing Roger’s new tune to the old hymn ‘Jesus Lives’, we will be holding a Zoom rehearsal ..read more

CMM Resources for Lent and Easter

Dear friends – the new year progresses and we are moving towards Lent, Passion and Easter. I share this extract from a joint message from Rt Rev Justin Welby and Rt Rev Stephen Cotterill: “… we have hope because God raised Jesus from the dead. This is the Christian hope that we will be celebrating at Easter. We live in the hope that we will share in his resurrection. Death doesn’t have the last word. In God’s Kingdom every tear will be wiped away.” (Archbishops of Canterbury and York) At CMM we have a vast number of resources for the coming seasons, and although there may be few “normal” or ..read more
